Very nice!  It seems like the Taurus tugboat has changed throughout the years!

Well I used Elmer’s glue to simulate glass and well it didn’t dry as clear as I had hoped but none the less I’m not too disappointed in them.  They are still wet in this pic.CD859E1E-24FE-41A2-8530-72C42C271D05.thumb.jpeg.f906f30e2e0858522862faca80dc7abc.jpeg

Ok so after spending more money at model expo lol their wonderful parts Department sent me new windows and doors.  I did offer to pay but they didn’t return that email, a wonderful company!  Makes me want to buy more things from them....

anyways I have also bought Krystal clear or whatever it’s called, so easy to work with. I am planning on putting some LEDs in side some how.  Progress! B0710529-E173-4DB3-AE03-50AF2B59C103.thumb.jpeg.f045f30b011a8e083dc24392005f59e0.jpeg43ACFEE8-488F-440A-8769-AF3E26F85B72.thumb.jpeg.59775f627cc4826c1599ad1668d06ea9.jpeg

You have done a wonderful job on the little Tug.  I had this kit years ago when you got the rough hull, some strip wood, blocks and a few castings.  I remember RR guys taking this kit and turning them into show stoppers.  And as I understand now you get w/PE, brass tube smoke stack and no white metal.  Watching you build yours, has me wanting to build another.  Oh, my 1st one, I paid $8.00! Like your approach and detail workmanship.

Thanks for your kind words and showing interest in this build of mine,  this is a fine little kit for sure!  This kit came with a wooden towel for the smoke stack, but I am going to see if I can find a correct sized copper tube to replace, it came with no PE to my knowledge.  The Pilot house was laser cut basswood which is probably a lot easier to work with over a solid block of wood!

As a change of pace I was working on the “Tug Beard”??  I think it’s not bad for a first try!  Anyone want to guess what it’s made of ? 😝 I have to trim it up a little more...and I assume stain or paint it?

Installed the rails and the windows and doors.  I also removed the trim on the roof, it made the roof too big I think.  Also painted the eagle, I was going to do gold leaf but I think the liquid gold looks great.  184F396A-4424-4819-B3EB-BDE6F6D7BDAE.thumb.jpeg.f66f03d640af37584eccc61c4bfba175.jpeg61AFD4FF-31C3-47B2-B5EF-F1E1E6DA1C30.thumb.jpeg.9ae0db23a9070ac415b6584540ccb709.jpegB7899C92-0C7F-4E18-8C0D-96F3C172B880.thumb.jpeg.cc054da65374fea2c90d2e9d8eeb200d.jpeg

Does anyone have any info on how the chains operated the steering?  There is the picture in the drawings that came with the tug, but they aren’t so clear and there is little documentation.  Wondering if a 3” pipe would be accurate to tie the chains together. (It appears chains on the rudder near the grating would then go to pipe, then go back to chain and run under the cabin to the steering wheel).3EEDB254-2F36-4B19-90C5-43912DBB886E.thumb.jpeg.c755957f70f716370ed68166382b88f9.jpeg

I just opened my version of the kit and reading through the directions. I didn’t realize how much extra you brought to the table! Great going!
