best instructions

I am a very newbie and I would say that the best instructions I have seen are on this site in the form of building logs, with them you can answer your own questions, most of the time!  Midwest although I believe out of production has great step by step instructions.  Model shipways has good instructions and great plans/drawings...and a few kits have practicums by chuck which make things even clearer.   Bluejacket has good instructions, but the photos could be better quality.  Best of luck!

I can also say that Model Shipways has good instructions, although I can't speak for every model, but those designed by Chuck Passaro have had good instructions. I made the 18th Century Longboat and am working on the Syren. They also let you see the instructions on their website. Go to a product page and there should be an Instructions and Parts list tab, you'll find .pdf files of the instructions there, at least for most of the models.

The concept of best is pretty much iffy for the most part for the older companies. But, I'd look at some the newer companies like Syren Model Company (the owner is a admin here) and Vanguard Models (the owner is on this site also).  You find banner ads for both on the lower right of the front page.
