Hello all. I just found this forum a couple days ago. It's been a long time since I've done any model building but decided to get back in. I built a 32 inch plastic Cutty Shark, with all the rigging, about 50 years ago. Since the I've built wooden version of the Robert E Lee, river boat, and the Bluenose. Just ordered the HMS Terror. Been thinking I'd like to build it as it was originally built, as a bomb vessel. When it was built in 1812 it had 10 cannons and 2 mortars. It was used in the in the war of 1812 here in the states. I believe it was around the 1830's it was converted and used for exploration.

I thought with all the expertise on this form I could get thoughts as to whether this is a good idea or not and were I might find some further information as to the original construct and design of the Terror.

Looking forward to getting started and gaining knowledge and help from this forum.

Welcome aboard! Such expertise as you describe does indeed exist within our group -- but I am not one of those experts. Looking forward to seeing the fruits of your research.

Cheers!
