Looking for advice on starting a build log

I am a new member.  I am starting to build my 4th model boat.  I thought it would be fun to document this with a build log.  Are there any lessons learned, guidelines, or articles?  How about the size of pictures, length of text?  I can guess what I need to do (by looking at other logs), but in general, my guess rate is only 50% successful 🙂

Except for our standardized naming conventions, there are no particular hard and fast rules for build logs. It's pretty much a freestyle thing.

Welcome to Model Ship World.  It sounds like you love to sail boats.  I am glad you are interested in starting a build log.  Here are a couple of topics that may be of help:

You will find a build log very rewarding when you post about your build.

Welcome to MSW!

Yes, put up whatever seems appropriate in your log. At the bottom of the box as you write your post there's a note: Drag files here to attach, or choose files... - that's how you upload photos. And there's a useful trick - If you want to re-size your photos, double click on the picture you've placed in the text - it gives you a menu to reduce the size of your photo if you wish.

The other thing I'd suggest is that you outline the steps you took in making something, so others who follow after get the benefit of your experience - including the mistakes (sometimes the best way of learning!).

Other than that it's pretty much open slather. And have fun with it. That's what it's all about, after all.
