Nice repair, Adrieke.  Also just noticed that you have hit that 1,000 post milestone to join Sjors and Augie in the Captains Club!

Nice looking repair on the railings Adrieke

Really improves the look

Luckily the ones on the spirit actually looked fine when joined together as the cast finished half way along a gap both ends so the join showed a normal gap

It was just disguising the joint

Those corner decorations

They drove me mad  :piratetongueor4:

I think they took a few hours to get them right on their own

For some reason some would just not hold with just a spot of CA and of course as soon as you put a bit more on there.............................. :pirate41:

Congratulations on your promotion BTW  :10_1_10:

funny littl econversation my wife and me had yesterday :

once in awhile i show her the forum and the beautiful builds on her. she noticed the title captain above my picture and she said was that so i explained to her about the number of posts .

anyway last night in the car when out shopping we where bantering a bit about who is in charge and i said wel i am because i am drivign and she goes

wel you may be the captain but i am the admiral. i look at her half shocked half laughing my wife knows nothing about ranks or the honorary title on here .; ofcourse i had to explain to her and she laughed

its just in them isnt it

another small update

fitted the first two curved railings . they where a bit awkward as the head posts have different angles there but I think I got them pretty ok. will se when the glue dries

post-622-0-72390200-1370003611_thumb.jpg

with this done I can now fit the paddlewheel in permanently :)

tomorrow I will also buy the necessary parts to fit the 3rd deck and the connector to be build into the display bottom for the powerpack. I need to do that now before fixing anything on the 3rd deck (same goes for the triangle ornaments

i feel like i am in the same stage as when i started the rigging of the Virginia . still a lot to do but seeing the end of it :)

then i can concentrate more on the endeavour . maybe even start the Gorch Fock before Sjors has made his first ratline :P

have another beer sjors

Thanks Adriaan!

No beer for  me this week.

Have the late shift  :(

Railing turn out well my friend.

And the end is in sight...

Good feeling?

Take your time with the CF…..no ratlines for a while…...

thank you Sjors

well the beer is always cold in the bar on the KOM see when your shift is over come around :)

yes it is a good feeling to see it come together and I don't have to worry about getting bored as I have plenty more build on the endeavour and the GF :)

today I purchased some stuff :

a set of 6  small files some electrical parts and more storage boxes. I also got some epoxy glue but after reading instructions realised that the nozzles need to be replaced after each use and there are only 2 of them.

first thing I did was put the DC connector in the display base and tested it out.

post-622-0-47473400-1370096960_thumb.jpg

soldered 2 last two wires on to the board for the 8 led's on the 3rd deck stateroom and the steering house

post-622-0-02633800-1370096966_thumb.jpg

the idea is that the 3rd deck will fit into the connectors when placing it on top

I have added the metal plate to hold the 3rd deck on unfortunately one of the nuts didn't stick and am having a hard time adding it as it needs to be underneath and the metal plate is pretty much stuck to the ship

hopefully I get it sorted out tomorrow and will be able to add the lights for second deck again and have the 3rd deck in place for finishing off

schol Sjors

working a lot on the wiring construction and on the paddle wheel. the 2 parts of the arms that drive it are supposed to be hold together with a piece of brass rod but I am having difficulty flattening the ends so they stay on. am now trying with a toothpick.

also added some rings on each side of the paddlewheel so it wont hit against the sides when it spins.

its a pretty miserable day here in Sydney . rain and cold but have a little heater and a radio in my little workshop to cheer me up :)

Adriaan,

Shop looks good but the boat looks toooooo close to the table edge.  :o

With my spastic nature, it would probably crash to the floor the first time I jumped up to get a part or something.... :D

Great progress! :)

Hello Adriaan,

Good luck with the wiring construction and the paddle wheel.

Looking forward to seeing both in place.

We are enjoying a wonderful day here with lots of sunshine.

I've sent some of it your way.

Take care,

Anja

thanks Crackers

I am  always interested in expanding my library :) . one day I might scratch build one in more detail :)

not much progress. the part that I broke and fixed is a weak spot and makes the paddle wheel dip down and hit the sides. I am hoping with the help of the rigging I can lift it in the right position and add a strip of wood underneath for more strength

I have also started planking the 2 curved room floors as they will be visible through the windows

progress will be slow this week as it is cold at night and I am still in  a bit of discomfort (saw the Doctor and got 5 more weeks of medication prescribed :( )

Hello Adriaan,

Boy, that paddle wheel is surely working against you. But you will get it right.

I'm sorry to hear you're still in a bit of discomfort. I hope the medication will help.

Just take care of yourself.
