I stained a bulkhead on the picket boat I am building and apparently I must have dabbed some glue smack in the middle that was immediately apparent after applying. Of course the piece is glued in place as well. Just awkwardly sand down the area and re-stain?

Rather than sanding, I would scrape the affected area with a scraper and see if a careful reapplication of stain can repair the problem before getting into removing the piece.

Thanks for reminding me of another reason why I hate using CA unless it's absolutely necessary. Even if CA might not have been the culprit.

I have used Minwax Gel Stain and rub it in like shoe polish and have actually been able to cover a few glue problems with it. It may take a bit of a heavier application over the affected area and lighter removal of the excess but it has worked for me. Good luck!
