I know how tricky it is to find a tone to feel happy about. And the red on Vasa is a tricky one. I dont know how many shades I mixed and test painted before I was happy. And then it has to look right against the wood of the hull and that in my case ment redoing the red mix once more.

You could of course add dark washes and that would mute them, but the white lines could be hard to get nice, if they are made of paper it could also be a problem as it probably would absorb the washes much more and then look beige or weird.

But like I said, I like the look youve gone for and you succeeded with it so dont risk anything please. ;)

You are probably right about the paper even though I did clear coat it.My intention from the start was to get as close to the coloring of the 1/10 model as I could so I will leave it as is.By the way I also have the Corel kit so I may do it differently.

300 pieces painted, now that is some work and your not even close to being done. Excellent work with all the detail, very beautiful indeed. Keep the pictures coming.

Hi Mark!

Just came across your build. The detail painting on the edge of the railing in your last series of photos is amazing! Looks like you may have been using a brush with one hair in it! Just to put it in perspective, what is the overall length and thickness of the railing?

Best wishes
