NAZGÛL Posted September 6, 2013 Share #63 Posted September 6, 2013 (edited) I know how tricky it is to find a tone to feel happy about. And the red on Vasa is a tricky one. I dont know how many shades I mixed and test painted before I was happy. And then it has to look right against the wood of the hull and that in my case ment redoing the red mix once more. You could of course add dark washes and that would mute them, but the white lines could be hard to get nice, if they are made of paper it could also be a problem as it probably would absorb the washes much more and then look beige or weird. Looks like you may have been using a brush with one hair in it! Just to put it in perspective, what is the overall length and thickness of the railing?
