I'm looking for a card model of the Arizona battleship.  Digital Navy has one, but of course those links aren't working any longer.  I've seen one or two pop up on eBay, but they are Chinese sellers.  Can't seem to locate any other options on the european sites.

Thanks,

Dion

The Chinese versions are probably illegal copies of the Digital Navy version. Have you tried contacting Roman through DN's email? He hasn't kept up his website, but he may still sell you a copy of the kit.

Ah, indeed they do. Here is the link.

Wow, that full detail kit for $100 looks pretty amazing, but not sure if I want to pay that amount for that level of frustration, I mean enjoyment.  :)

How good are the GMP kits?  I just started an HMV kit and am happy with it so far.  Hesitant to drop a lot of coin on kits that I'm unfamiliar with at this point unless they come recommended.

Never built one myself. I tend to shy away from anything bigger than my current project (destroyer escort) because of the added expense, the need for more display space, and the extra 'enjoyment', as you say.

I don't know how your german language is developed, and I don't know whether the pics show up for non-registered users, but here is a buildlog: the builder uses all the additional laser-sets, and reports a well-designed kit, not easy, but without issues.

Thanks Jan.  I've owned several BMWs and Porsches, raced a German formula car, and eat a lot of German food.  But sadly my German language is relegated to engine and chassis parts.  :)

I just registered for that site.  Thanks for the link.

Chris - I have a basement full of 1/4 scale airplanes including 4 with wingspans of 12-14 ft.  What's one more big model to add to the house.  LOL

Well, I pulled the trigger and I just ordered the full Arizona set, card, laser, and detail sets.  Early Birthday present to myself.   Maybe I'll get it done by next year's birthday!

Unfortunately I may need to recant this statement.  I've been trying and failing to complete an order from GPM or get it paid through their 3rd party transaction system.  At this point I'm about to give up and go a different direction.  Unless anyone has some 'secrets to ordering from a Polish website when you live in the US", then I'm not sure what else to do.  Messages, translations, customer support from both sides - nothing.  Apparently, they don't want my money that bad.

Since I don't know what your problems are, I can only add a suggestion which may or may not be relevant.

I used to have all sorts of problems ordering/paying for items using PAYPAL.  :default_wallbash:  By changing browsers from FIREFOX to Microsoft EDGE (for those transaction) I no longer have problems. :36: Could that be the problem with GPM third party?

Thanks Chuck.  It might be.  I'm using Google Chrome and entering a Visa.  Even though they show Paypal as an option, I can't get it to show up as a selection when it's time to make payment.  When I enter my payment info, it takes me to a third party site  Przelewy24.  That site is supposed to notify GPM of payment.  It notifies me that  the transaction went through, and I can see the hold on my CC, but when I check with GPM they advise that the payment has not been made.  Of course, each communication takes 24 hours because of the time delta.  Patience is not my strength when I'm sending this kind of money overseas.  😉

Issue fixed.  American CC company released the pymnt after they sent me a fraud alert, but it was blocked long enough that the Polish company marked it as rejected and couldn't unmark it.

I went back in and actually found the obscurely buried link to PayPal, and everything has gone through as of today at Noon.

Timely narrative, as I tried to make a first-time purchase from GPM yesterday and ran into similar issues. I'm going to have to try hunting harder for the PayPal link.

Part of the difficulty in ordering card models or after-market parts is that the publishers rarely ever reprint stuff, so when it's gone, it's gone. In my case, GPM has some laser-cut frames for some older Kartonowa Kolekcja kits I have, so that's who I have to order from.

Chris, the PayPal link is on the last option when the payment options come up.  I can't remember what it's labeled as, but it is the one at the bottom exactly where you wouldn't look.

I've ordered from GPM many times successfully. Then, a fellow modeler from my ship model club tried it, based on my recommendation, and had all sorts of trouble.

It appears they have switched to newer payment system, and it's much harder for us in the U.S. to navigate it successfully 🤨

I was able to complete my order last night. The first thing that helped was finally noticing that Przelewy24 has an option for changing the language to English. Then I discovered the PayPal button at the bottom of the list of supported financial institutions. After that it was a piece of cake.

Well, that was an amazing experience.  After finally getting the ordering process correct, the kit was shipped on the April 22nd, I got it today, and they even credited my account for overcharging on the shipping.  7 days from Poland.

I am not opening the wrapper until I finish my current project, but the stack of paper, frames, and laser cut parts is over an inch thick.  My Wife was laughing at me......
