Sigh, Roden kits are a challenge and this one is the second part of our club 1930’s themed group build.

luckily it’s not 1/35 but smaller but not easier!

Red, after a lot of sanding. The top will be white. I’m awaiting some replacement wheels and some PE from Poland.

This reminds me of a diecast bus kit that used to be available  years  ago,   it was made up in a similar  way  and  even had  the  enamel paints to paint it after  - even had  opening  doors by a  metal slide  lever.

You know when you Just lose interest in a project? The PE arrived from Poland and the Resin wheels, so a little bit of paint and done.

Nice job, Greg! Out of curiosity, I googled the Deutsche Reichspost (the Reich Postal Service), expecting it to be a Nazi-era creature, but was surprised to learn that it was established in 1870 and operated until 1945. They even set up a system of public videophones beginning in 1936.

Of course, it was set up after 18.01.1871, the day when the 2nd Empire was offcially proclaimed. Like the railway it retained 'Reich' in its name, even after 1919, when the Empire officially ceased to exist and during the republican years from 1919 to 1933.

 

Nice project, btw. I wasn't aware that busses of the Reichspost had a red livery. It appears that these were town-busses in large cities operated by the Reichspost and the idea was to distinguish them visually from the yellow overland-busses.
