Hi, due to circumstance and a lack of progress I have decided my long suffering HMS Pegasus model will need completing by someone else. I don’t think I have done too bad a job on it so far. I am at the rigging stage and dithered too long as it looked daunting. I have now ran out of time as we are moving onto our own narrowboat full time and space is at a premium. So if anybody can collect from my home by the end of the month it is theirs.
I am not sure if that idea appeals to anybody.

I recently bought new brass parts as the Saracen was lost from the stern. These are unopened. Paints, rigging, pulleys etc all included. I think everything necessary to finish the model.

I have to admit that I'm a little envious about the full-time narrowboat plan. I told my wife that we have enough equity in our home to sell it and pay cash for a narrowboat, but she wasn't keen on the idea -- my loss!

Hi Chris, yes it is exciting. But also a little overwhelming how little time and space we now have since we committed to the move. Our boat Ruby needs some TLC on the outside and a fair amount of upgrading with solar, batteries and WiFi, washing machine, 12v fridge etc. but she is a cracking boat and as solid as can be. The rest just takes time and money to fix up.

I was really looking into the narrowboat life and the British canals a while back. The Mrs. told me "No, don't even think about it less you find yourself wanting for another woman!" I told her I wasn't wanting a woman; I wanted a canal boat! That wasn't my brightest idea... 😮

Morning all. I have decided to crate Pegasus up and store her ready for a time when I will have the space to carry on. Thanks TMJ for the  kind offer to complete her in the U.S, but the hassles around U.K Brexit and shipping make that a tough one.
At least I will get to finish her myself at some point in the future.

Good plan. That’s a very nice looking build and I’d think you’re bound to have a time when you’re sat somewhere nice with too much time on your hands. That’s what stops us buying - our current plan, once my wife retires, is to rent long term I.e. two or three months at a time, to do some of the longer journeys, but be able to come back home for the winter etc.
