Swift 1805 by philo426 - FINISHED - Artesania Latina - first POB build

Recommended Posts

I decided to mount up the main mast first due to the long spanker boom.I am glad that I used 5 min epoxy as it allows you to adjust the rake fore and aft.The rigging took a lot of time because I had to be sure to do it according to the plans. The tiny blocks made running the thread through them somewhat difficult.   001-70_zps9cda332c.jpg

Moving along pretty fast compared with my snail pace. The warp in the mast just makes it look like its in a strong wind. I know what you mean though, I had one of my small dowel fall in 1/2 in my hand. What can you expect for the actient kit, I guess.

The Ogee gives her a forecastle look, I like it.

So are you going to put sails on her? I'm assuming like mine your didnt come with sails. I think the new kit has sails. I got some some thin white handkerchiefs for 99 cents that I think should work for sail at hobby lobby.

For the display, the options are wide open. You can do anything you please. Brass pedestals or launching ways, either sounds good.

While silding ways are interesting, one thing that most modelers want when they place their model on a display base is that it NOT move. Your choice though.

Looks very nice on her base board.  Congratulations on a build well done.  :champagne-2:

Congrats on completion! Nice Work Philo.

If you had as much fun as I'm having you'll definitely do another. It's very satisfying to see a box of sticks snd a few extra pieces turn into a ship. It'll be interesting to see what you choose, For me I spend to much time think about what else is next.
