I just noticed while looking at the water way that I was bending it the wrong way. I had it tall, not flat.

How do y'all get text between photo's?
I like the filler block. Hope it works. Thanks to following Nirvana's log, I installed the elusive great beam. Cutting the bulkheads (stantions?) is how I cut myself. I switched to a saw I have. Finest blade I've seen. I could only draw the saw toward me, not push it back away.

If I understand it correctly, I found one piece with the rudder and see where that goes. It had to be cut in half. Then there's the great beam that's .09X.2" and the shorter one next to that so that my sailors have something to trip over. I just don't see the pre-cut parts for the great beam. I can fabricate to within .02". It looks like it'd be about 1/64" off.

Yeah, I got a bloody mess all over the keel and bulkheads. Took 3 hours to stop the bleeding.

Thanks, Derek. And thanks for the warning. I snapped one too, but I was pointing down at the time.

I think I built my first model when I was 7. I'm sure I cut myself then. I think I cut myself at least once per model. Today I cut myself twice. At least in the old days it was an e-acto. This time it was with a scalpel.

I'm familiar. I had one. That's why I'm looking some more. It's not the highest quality.

I'm printing that up so the old man can read that.

Isn't there a jig to help with the installation of bulkheads?

I've decided I don't like Lauck's practicum by Bob Hunt. It's too simplified. I need to learn about strakes...etc. and he just shows the ship being planked.

A line from Horatio Hornblower in book one.
My old Navy neighbor insisted that there was no such thin as a rope on a ship. Thus my question.

What's up with the abandoned ship? You're the captain, were you last off the ship?

Can we log that here?

They have a 1.350 resin model here for about $170
When I went to pay it was $140. Said $165
My friend said it's the exact same ship. He's 91. I hope he lives long enough for me to finish it.

Wow, it took a lot of searching.
A rope is unused, It's like me. it has no job. Once it has been employed and given a name based on it's function it becomes a line.

What's the difference between rope and line?
