Congrats in advance whenever it does happen then

Good day Ferit. Always a pleasure to see your latest work... so precise, so streamlined, so... graceful. You have a true talent my friend.

David, you can hem and haw about what you could build, and settle for something close that may please you, but more likely to lose your interest, or you could just say screw it (that would be "screw" spelled with a capital "F") and build what you really want to build, and deal with whatever space issues you may have later on.
Ray, nice job on your Diana. I've been quietly following along and enjoying all your nice photos. Keep up the good work.

Holy smokes !!!! From a timid voice in the woods whispering "My transom doesn't fit" to a booming orator spouting proverbs and wisdoms such as 'Rome wasn't built in a day'! It's amazing how far a little adversity goes in bringing out one's true character.
I'm awed.

Everything starts out rough... the finest table in the land started as a rough sawn log... what matters is how it ends and I'm sure you'll make it look great

Hi Mark,
I have some great advice but…….everybody is thinking that the bottom is not good.
That's not it…it's the top
The bottom fits perfectly!
So, decision is made…..totally scratch .
I make a new one from plywood.
I think that's the best.
Maybe this afternoon I'm gonna start with it.
I had my medical examination today and the Doctor is saying that I had the health of a man of 25 years old…so from now on, I'm not 56 years old anymore but 25

WOW, 3 college educations. Thats more then the GNP of some poorer nations these days.
Neuroscience is some really cool stuff. My analytical chem bordered on bio-chem/pharma type stuff. There's alot to still learn about how it all works. Its funny to think that when I started my education they were just starting the Human Genome project and it finished before I did. I started school in 94 at the age of 30, I was a slow starter.
It's tough to keep up, I was just pricing a Lehninger Biochem text just the other day as we've learned a lot in the decade since my Text edition was published a decade ago. After the Victoza thing I've been restudying the metabolic pathways. Sadly most research scientists are 15 years ahead of health care and MD's. MD's forget they are scientists and must keep up. I tried to get a PubMed access from many MD's and none pay for it. So who reads all the journal literature I can't access and was paid for by tax money, sheesh!
Seriously, I'm twice published in Analytical Chemistry journal and I can NOT access my own papers, and they were funded by NSF and NIH grants. I had to change diagrams in my thesis or ask the journal permission to use my own diagrams. ARGH!
Thats why hobbys are necessary, life sometimes can get heavy and one needs to know when to work and when to play.

A highly dangerous virus called "Weekly Overload Recreational Killer" (WORK) is currently going around. If you come in contact with this WORK VIRUS, you should immediately go to the nearest "Biological Anxiety Relief" (BAR) centre to take antidotes known as "WORK Isolating Neutralizer Extract" (WINE), "Radioactive UnWORK Medicine"(RUM), "Bothersome Employer Elimination Rebooter" (BEER) or "Vaccine Of Depression Killing Antigen"(VODKA)

Actually Jim, look for a local chapter of the Modeliolistic Society of the Whichonenextologists.... (MSW?) They are easy to spot as they all look glassy eyed from lusting after build logs, a tiny bit of spittle usually on the left side of the mouth and more than two fingers stuck together with CA glue.
Doesn't sound terribly attractive but a good kind-hearted harmless bunch I'm told my membership card is in the mail

Tom,
I've absolutely NO idea what your last comments mean.
What are these "recent events" you mention?
How on earth COULD thou be aware if I check on "our builds for details". Who is this "our" you speak of?
I don't inhabit MSW 24/7 and read each and every post. Sorry, I have other life activities. PM your explanation if you want.

I would have left well enough alone, but I had nothing to attach the upper shroud deadeyes too. Instructions failed to mention needing to drill holes in my crow's nests first. I attempted drilling the holes with them in place, but even though the metal is soft, I could not get it done without causing breakage to the masts. So, in order to drill the holes properly I need to remove the crows nests. Problem...that means the lower shrouds have to come down as they run through the nests.
It is not the end of the world, I bought better rope, ordered a serving machine...so I believe that will make doing the shrouds easier this time, and I enjoy the rat lines anyway. It is only setting me back about 3 weeks....oh well, the longboat is keeping me busy in the meantime
