my gosh, what a beautiful paint job, and gorgeous last shot....i know i could never match the exquisite workmanship done here, and am totally at peace with it, and it's so nice to do what i've done, so i can truly appreciate those who are the true modelers........ i had problems with scale also on the zhl san felipe.......wasn't happy with that model....was a waste of money, and made me fearful of buying anything else from them, in spite of the beautiful wood carvings they produce, even though some of their models may be excellent.... maybe modelers like you have developed their skills over many lifetimes...same spirit in different bodies...it's the only thing i can think of, to explain all the prodigies who have been born in this world.... so mr. prodigy.....congrats!!! -

man is born, then leaves the world and is mostly forgotten, but brilliant modelers and artists, like mark, create legacies which defy time, and uplift and inspire mankind to continue to pursue that dream, where peace and harmony prevail....

i intervene, by asking anyone here if they have seen any metal sanding sheets, i think with carbide abrasive coatings , fine and coarse.....it's like they don'l exist anymore ......they put sandpaper to shame....i still have some after 40 years.....sandvik came out with them first....you can cut them to any shape....the most wonderful tool ever.....maybe it's some kind of suppression?.......thanks....

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
