  1. regarding the shine or flatness of the hull, i kinda imagine i'm a seagull back in time, flying near the ship and i try to imagine what it looked like from above, like someone looking at a model.....though i haven't checked photos of replicas of ancient ships to see how they looked....just an interesting perspective...........
  2. gads.....the detail....yer gonna make me wanna start building again.....sheesh!
  3. getting a permanent crease in my rear end, sitting on the edge of my seat 😀.....hmmmm...seems like something interceded again....😢...cheers anyways............vic
  4. that's super....thanks........never saw that drawing....maybe yours will be a more detailed version of the one i did......these ships were totally fascinating and were always a mystery to me since i was a child......this is an interesting project too...thought you might like...... https://modelshipworld.com/topic/10344-10th-11th-century-byzantine-dromon-by-louie-da-fly-150/page/31/ cheers, vic

  8. yea, some clear flat sprays or whatever don't work very well and almost leave a whitish haze...but i think some do work well.......it's mainly to avoid any plastic like appearance......i find that a satin spray worked well for me, but then again, that was on wood......anyways whatever you do, it will look super!.........smiley
  9. as wonderful as it looks, my only thought is that i would have preferred a flat finish....but that's just a matter of taste.......cheers, vc
  10. haha...very nice....i guess using fimo would have been a sacrilege 😀😀
  11. what about fimo? ..............modeling clay...they have different types....bakes in oven....is what i used to make the sculptures on the royal william.....which although amaturish, came out ok........but traditional wood i understand....
