Worked on the rigging the rudder Time to start attaching blocks. I am trying to attach as much as possible now. Per my calculation, I have to do 6 more. And the deadeyes. I will have to do a little paint touch-up.

Starting to rig the bowsprit. None of the the lines are attached yet to their respective cleats. I have a few holes and lines to prepare before I am able to do so. As I am working on upgrading this build from the standard plan from AL, I need to get more chains. Quite a few ropes will be replaced by it.

Working on the bowsprit. I used the French plan to create a rocambeau (French word) not sure what it is called in English. Any idea? Attached the bowsprit. First chain attachment in place.

Spend the past few weeks reorganizing the shipyard. I have a few more additions to make to maximize the storage (new workbench) . I will be creating a platform for the table saw to store it below. I created this mini platform with storage from scrap wood to allow me to work standing or to have the ship higher when seating.

Thank you. Yes, I used an airbrush. Tough though to get a clean edge on wood. I had a few problems (paint bleeding) and had to fix with a paint brush here and there.

Some more painting... I did not glue the fish rack yet. It will be easier to work on the mast and rigging later.

Hello everyone, I was asked to finish this ship on behalf of a fellow shipbuilder who past a few years ago by his daughter. The Hull was completed with a few mistakes here and there. Some repairs were needed to get it as smooth as possible. The deck furnitures were also completed for the most part. They do need some love and attention. Here is a picture of the ship now. Started to work on the rails and discovered a few problems. Repaired Here is the result after the rails have been installed

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
