  1. Here's my new project for next few months. I'm going to build this ship for my first daughter. I got so excited that I did not take any picture of the content before starting. Lol
  2. It is finished. I named her for my wife, the Andrea. 4 girls at home so each of them will get a build Here are a few more shoots.
  3. Well done! She is looking great! Are you using the wood that comes with the kit or did you upgrade it?
  4. Working on the anchors... I have to finish up the rigging to the timberhead and the buoys. The end of the build is getting near...
  5. Running Rigging DONE!!!!!!!!!!!! It is time to make some Rope Coils. It looks like it is going to be a 'million' of them. After that, I will work on the 2 anchors and name her. 4 Girls at home so this is one will be named after my wife.
  6. I have been working on the running rigging: Jib Halliard, fore stay sail Halliard, spreader yard Brace pendants completed but not attached Beginning of the Brace collar for the jib boom
  7. Done with the ratlines. I was on a roll last night and ended up working on it until 1a. Rough to get up this morning at 5a. Here is the result.
  8. I used them to file small pieces of wood, tight areas of the ship, brass, soft metals... etc. For example, I used them to fine tune the gun ports.
  9. Yes, it is a bit if a challenge, especially since you are also trying to get the Clove hitch knotts to be tight.
  10. You are right, Brian. Here is where I am already. Of course, I need to trim and adjust everything.
  11. Small update. I have decided to add some additional details to the build but not as much as some of the other master pieces on this site. It would be a more humble approach. I have for goal to built the Triton cross section later so I am using this built as a platform to test new techniques and concepts. So far the deck beams have not been glued.
  12. Last night progress. This is just some strips of wood that I wanted to put there to see how would look like. But this is not the right size. I'm going to have to trim the wood on the side a bit. I noticed that is quite a discrepancy between the plans and the actual Construction. In one section, the directions /plans called for 10 strips but you really need 7. I think this is something I'm going to have to look out for for the entire build.
  13. It is definitely an interesting kit. The overall quality of the wood is decent. Some of the strips are warped but I can work around that. I am thinking about maybe upgrading the plank on the deck with some boxwood.
  14. English direction or not I am starting. I used an app where you can take a picture of a text. You can extract the text from the picture. After that it was just a matter of using Google translate., there is a few mistakes , but overall it is okay to understand.
  15. You are right about that. It is coming alive. I am always amazed on how much rigging there is on that kit.
