Today, was another day of alot of Sanding and Fairing. I then masked off an shot 3 coats of Blue, before the power went out ,( we had a thunder storm this afternoon )  next I will sand the hull to 800 grit wet sandpaper and shoot 2 more coats of Blue. Before I do that I will Install all the thru Deck Fittings , and finish Painting the Deck , I also sprayed 2 coats of flat Black on the Comunications Tower and Fising weight ( I dont know why ) Here are the results after another great day with the Boat

Lately, I have been painting the second figure that will be placed on my ship.  It's Captain Job and he will soon be found on the bridge. I think it's successful and I've at least had fun painting.

Hello people   Today continued with the factory of the bulwark. The legs must be made and aligned and that was lots of work. I have glued the feet  to the deck with a mould  (after I had measured out where to stand, of course) and then the horizontal pipes fitted.
Because Cyanoacrylaat-glue adheres poorly on brass I have every bonding later touched with a bit of epoxy glue.

It looks nice, and things are properly aligned. The building is now ready apart from some minor things, and so we can start painting.

    All fifteen ready

Hello everyone and thanks to all for dropping by and your like votes.

I did manage a few hours in the shipyard today.  Did some futz'n with the doors to make them fit a little nicer. Then I figured that to be on the sage side I added a thin disc of wood under the launcher plate to raise it up a hair for a little more clearance over the folded doors.

I decided to glue two strips of card stock to the port door for the trial hinges and when the glue had dried enough during lunch I glued the door in place.  Then it was time to go with Gwen for some grocery shopping.  I needed some more ingredients for a few dishes I want to make - - - asparagus with a Brie sauce - - how's that sound???

We'll have to wait till tomorrow for the results of how the door works and that the launcher can still rotate over it.  We'll keep our fingers crossed.

I also started to make two more torpedoes to put inside the launcher.

I only made on picture for my archive but will make a few more when I'm glueing the final hinges to the door.

Not much to see but this is the port door being held in place with some string and a weight.  I put the card strips just to the inside of the "handhold" like thingies.  Everything looks kinda rough yet but I'm happy that I didn't do more damage to the deck sides.  Spray-paint touch up will fix all that  and no one will ever know what we had to go through - - - other then all yuns following my build

    Cheers,

Remember the movie Good Will Hunting? There's a scene in there where the brilliant math professor tells the math prodigy that there may only be five people in the world who could tell the difference between their work and unfortunatly he was one of them...and it haunted him. When you get to Remco's level, these differences that are invisible to the vast majority of us stick out like a sore thumb.

The railings at the stern and forecastle have been added. I glued chocks in between the top of all toptimbers and have glued on thin covering boards. I'm not sure what the correct English expression for these covering boards is, In some books they are called plansheer, in another planksheer and I've found also other names for them, Some times they are called rough tree rails - I'm rather confused.
