  1. Congratulations B.E. on this beautiful build. I love the way the model sits on the keel blocks. I have enjoyed following your build log.
  2. Welcome to Model Ship World. You have done a great job on the Lobster Smack and your full size boats are also works of art. You will do just fine in this hobby. The Longboat is a lot more difficult to build than what it looks like, but the model will turn out very nice. I look forward to following your progress.
  3. I attended the International Plastic Modelers Society (IPMS) National Convention in Hampton, Virginia, held August 6–9. My Club, the Hampton Roads Ship Model Society, had a display in the Clubs section where several of our members displayed their models. The event was great, drawing people from all over the United States, many of them were ship modelers. There was a wooden ship model category sponsored by the Nautical Research Guild, so I entered my Medway Longboat. I was thrilled to take home a third place award. Here is a photo from the IPMS featuring my model:
  4. Nice job on your Niagara. Welcome to Model Ship World.
  5. I just went through your build log and I am amazed at the quality of your work on this model, especially with it being your first build and with a limited amount of power tools. You have documented your build very well and it will be an aid for future builders on this kit. I am looking forward to your future progress as this is going to be a well built model. Thanks for sharing your build with us.
  6. Welcome to Model Ship World Terry. I did a search for Bluenose build logs and found these: https://modelshipworld.com/tags/bluenose/
  7. You had one picture titled HMS Bellerophon.jpg that was not in an album. When I looked at your profile, I saw that you had an album titled HMS Bellerophon, so I moved that picture to your Bellerophon album. You had set up albums correctly for all of your other pictures, it was only this one picture that was not posted in an album.
  8. Welcome to Model Ship World Rob. You have come to the right place to build your Constitution, We are here to help you with your build.
  9. Congratulations Kevin on completing this beautiful build. You must feel mighty proud of this model.
  10. Welcome to Model Ship World. You are off to a good start on your Alabama.
  11. Welcome to Model Ship World. You have picked a good kit to start your journey in building wooden ship models.
  12. Welcome to Model Ship World. Glad to have you aboard.
  13. Trevor is correct that the tubes and pins should be on the outside of the straps. See the 6:30 mak of this YouTube video:
  14. Nice start to this kit. I just did not buy enough tickets to increase my odds of winning one of these.
  15. Congratulations on another beautiful work of art. I always enjoy your builds of card models.
  16. On April 26th, I attended the 42nd Annual Northeast Joint Clubs Conference and Show in New London, CT where I displayed my model of the Medway Longboat. There were over 50 models on display and and my model received the Jim Roberts Award in the judged competition. I am deeply honored to have received this award. Here is a photo on the new Ships in Scale website with me on the right receiving the award from Tom Ruggiero of the Ship Model Society of New Jersey. Mike Ellison of Seawatch Books is on the left, holding the mic. Here is a link to the full article on the Conference: https://shipsinscale.com/2025/05/04/northeast-model-ship-enthusiasts-gather-for-joint-clubs-conference/
  17. Hey Cisco, I saw your AVS at the show. Pictures just do not do your model justice. It is an absolute beauty of a model and I look forward to seeing it completed. Glad you won one of Chuck's kits. I bought many raffle tickets for it, but no luck on winning one. It was a great show and I look forward to next year's event.
  18. Welcome to Model Ship World. You have come to the right place to start your journey in ship modeling.
  19. Welcome to Model Ship World George. It seems like there are a cluster of ship modelers in the DC area. Check out the Washington Ship Model Society, They have been meeting since 1929. https://www.dcshipmodelsociety.org/
  20. Congratulations on finishing your Prince De Neufchatel. Although this build stretched out over 16 years, the results are well worth the time spent.
