Hi everyone! There's a lot on my plate at the moment, so I haven't had time to be as active as I'd like lately.
I have finished the skankläder (war cloth?) for the tops. I then started with the tackles. I was surprised how much work they where. First I reshaped all the block to make them more like the real ones. Then I drilled the holes slightly bigger to fit the ropes I wanted. After that I made the hooks connecting them to the channels before putting the tackles in place.

Sweet work, Matti. As I recall, the rigging at times was a rat's nest but it all comes together. You're doing a great job.

Hola a todos;
I just finished the stern lantern. As I already mention, the plastic piece that simulates glass did not fit, I need to make a new one and also added and upper and lower piece to accommodate vertical “ribs”.
Here you can see the finished lantern in position.

jpett / dragzz, thanks for the help. I'll post a pic on my build tomorrow. I enjoy reading both of your builds, it already has helped me a lot...This is my second build, after I completed the Schooner a couple of weeks ago. Learning quite a bit!

Hey JP, quick question (I'm sure I will have many). I'm dry fitting deck #18 and when sitting on ribs 1,2 and 3, it really puts a big bend, did you shave off the tops of those 3 ribs a little to not make it not bend so much at the bow?

thanks Augie......hope you enjoyed how this came out. once they're adjusted, painted and assembled, they'll look better
thanks Mark.......I thought they would give a nice touch. I think it would be even cooler to show the mechanism, required in which they operate......of course, kits show nothing. I'm going to look around and see if I can get an idea on this. don't think I can top how Kees does it, but it's worth a try
thanks Michael.....gears.....you ain't kidding. looking at what your doing right now, makes my head spin. with all the figuring, fidgeting, and frustration we go through, it's what we see on the other end that makes us smile.

here is the new build thats iam going to start i got this kit used for 300.00 cad i looked over the kit all of it is there this is the 50 anniversary kit that what thay say its comes with billing slip 397 with the kit poeple say not to use but its with the kit so not to sure what to do there here a pic

taz jr thot it was a hotdog but what happen was girlfriend left the door open when she was cleaning she feels really bad about it now as i told its all ok it just a model i can redo it .

popeye there will be a new build of the wasa starting real in the next day or two

I have write Santa a letter that you really want to have the Mare Nostrum kit as a present.......
When you gonna build her again, you have more skills with that .
So stay away for a hour of two out of the hobby room and continue with the other builds !!!!!!

when I had the youngsters, I set up a 'berthing shelf'.......up high. when I was finished working on my build, I would clean up the table and put it up there. of course, I was building them on the dinning room table at the time times have changed.......kids are grown, and I have my own tables........I am relaxed looks like slim pick'ins for any salvage operation..........sad to say, but it looks like a Viking funeral is in order. very sorry to see it my friend

Hi Dragzz
You and I are about the same place on the Victory model. I went a little different route and did the 2x5 planking as I did the planking in the gun port area. It has been difficult to cut out the 2x5 planking at each gun port. Also the 2x5 planking is difficult to bend but I found away. I see you have already installed the metal gun ports with out painting them red as called for in the directions. Do you plan to leave them the metal color?
Keep up the good work as I compare my status with you.

here a bit of an update i have add the bulwarks in place now and did some sanding on them there looking good just a bit more still to put the back on next here some pic of what i got done
