  1. I had a Fritz x bomb printed 1/35 in 3D earlier in the year for the base. The bloke who made them had a misprint so he sent me that as well which was easy to fix with some plastic card. I thought about weathering them but it’s kinda pointless as the ones in museums are all very old and the contemporary ones would have been pristine. A very successful weapon. I’m trying to get out to the Australian war memorial annexe to take a photo of the ship with the real bomb.
  2. IJN green with a lighter green overspray to bring out the details then a dry brush with a very light green
  3. Nearly done, if you zoom in You can see the little side scuttle, I’ve got about 160 to add plus the ships planes.
  4. Now the Micromaster lift rafts, the details are amazing and make the kit ones look like blobs
  5. The thing with acrylics is you need lots of layers with a brush which drowns the details which you don’t with an airbrush. So the time it takes to mask works out quicker. IMO…..
  6. Once I get this done I need to tidy up some builds I’m putting in our local scale model show here in Canberra, I’m putting in the Langley, Thetis bay, Essex and Yamato. then I’ve got a fair bit to chose from ….
  7. The boat booms on the hull, the kit provides 4 and ignored a set near the Y turret. As you can see the kit plastic ones are poor. the PE ones are a bit bashed or replaced. Next is the boat davits, which are good enough but completely ignore how they worked so I fixed it with spares
  8. Roma’s focsle. I need more work on the painting yet as I’m not quite happy. The ventilators are fantastic and need work to bring out the detail at this scale. I’ve added paravane chains and the anchors. I’ve also added aftermarket paravanes to replace the rubbish kit ones.
  9. I’d like to thank the admins for what they do. Great work!
