I didn’t attach metal until the installation of a pillar. Macro filming, as usually, has shown a number of rough edges, but before oil coating they all will be eliminated.

I have made one of the most difficult pieces, if I am not mistaken, the Dutchmen call it Mast-in mastkoker.

Yes, You are right, this is a good photoetching, this is the only way to make this decor element. I understand this. But having judged my skills, and the lack of necessary equipment and materials, I came to the conclusion that I wouldn't be able to make this element properly. That is why I opted for abberation from the original. Probably I shouldn't have done it and leave the door without stained-glass window. Probably I should have done it that way.

In order to install hinges, I had to use a non typical method. I hope the photos will explain everything.

Dear Сolleagues I’m very touched by your attention to my work. My best regards, Alexander.

Сalking of the joints of the finishing covering of the deck-house roof had to be made out of thin rods of black hornbeam. Since the bending had to be made in place, the former technology was not suitable.

I made “slipway” for the shaping of deck flooring of the state cabin. According to dutch tradition – total absence of straight lines.

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
