doing that, the only thing you'll find tedious, will be the pillars. for an easy out, trim the pins off the tops of the pillars. cement them in place so they stand perpendicular and straight. when you add the spar deck, just glue around the edges of the deck....don't worry too much about the pillars {unless you want too}. you won't be doing anything too stressful on deck to matter much it does build into a nice model.

Thank you Heinrich for the kind words, I have been working on the small boat and one of the canon carriages.

Sorry, it's been so long that we fed that batch to the birds. I'll have to drag the machine here from where ever I left it. On the other hand, there's what appears to be some excellent adult beverages that might go well with popcorn. Now to go find that darn machine......

I'm not really sure Kevin.......drills like aluminum, but I'm sure it's a tin alloy. it's likely no different than some of the metal fitting normally found in most kits. all I know is that it doesn't take to solder very well. it does need some general cleaning though......some flash and mold lines. if you like, I can snap a picture of these metal parts, and show you

No I’m going to do her in her final configuration on later 1945 at the time of the Japanese surrender. She was scrapped afterwards as she was worn out.

As long as you only urinate on the bushes and clean up your poop I suppose it is OK.

We have something in common other than this forum and love of ships Mark.
My daughter-in-law was the reason I was able to get my shots as well. This state is pretty much in chaos and totally lost when it comes to shots. I don't even think they have covered 50% of the recognized seniors yet and the vaccine has been out for months now! There was another story today where a senior couple had to drive hundreds of miles across the state to get a shot. There seems to be no cohesive leadership on this effort at all.

I’ve joined the broken bulkhead club it seems. Just taking it out of the sprue, I knew that one was trouble. Otherwise coming along nicely.

Marvelous job on a seldom modeled ship in a hard to work with medium Chris. Congratulations

The Flyhawk Pe. As you can see it pretty much replaces the deck for which I purchased a nifty little chisel to get rid of the details that require deleting

I’m going to double stack builds here as I think I’ll have a bit of a wait in the upgrades from NZ. Again a kit I found cheap on E-Bay, I got quite a few extras from around the world. I wanted to do the fit out for April 1945, where the remainder of the Kriegsmarine was used to evacuate citizens from the Soviet army. The Flyhawk upgrade allows for a 1944 or final fit out.
The final fit out allows me to beat it up as it would have been almost worn out.
As usual the Flyhawk PE is just outstanding but I’ve gotten some 3D printed twin flack guns, and some newly released sea mines too.

Nah mate our dog is way to spoilt for that - she sits in the armchair filing her nails, and tells us to make notes of whats going on - what dogs are out walking thier keepers - we have to give her a full rundown when we get back - then even do her some dinner - its a good life for some.😁

No colourpicsof course, and as these boats were bought of the shelf, even no drawings in the online archive. And as the all had a rather unheroic existence, no paintings or other info at all in the net.
