Good start, Joe. BTW Syren do ship to the UK Not an easy thing to do, joggling, I dared not do it on my first model, so big up to you for giving it a go! -

Amen to that! What you can, when you can, is fine with us especially when it is always excellent work😉 -
Some more progress, the pilots seat, joystick and pedals fitted. after quite a few dry fits and tweaks, and utilising the earlier advice from Mr Coyle😉, the cockpit was glued to the port side fuselage inner skin. The starboard side was glued in position and the top and bottom pieces test fitted I feel I've done the easy bit, and now it's going to test me because, it's on to the engine 😬. Thanks for all the comments, likes and interest, all very much appreciated and most definitely welcome. Cheers Sorry about the photo quality 😔

Thanks to all for the interest👍 Thank you for the advice about the cockpit Chris. Wing framing continues, as does lamination of the parts that require it. Began making up the control stick for the cockpit, and boy did it fail big time! that scruffy, silver, little so called roll of paper is supposed to be the joystick 😂 a toothpick, sanded to size and painted flat aluminium has been pressed into service. I think a lot more practice on the rolling tightly is needed. Thanks for looking in. Cheers

This will be my first serious foray into proper card kit models, as I've dabbled with free printable models with very little sucess😬 I have been following several of @ccoyle aircraft build logs, and the Paper Shipwright Puffer build by @AJohnson which all of which tipped me over the edge, and broke my resistance to buy a card kit. Anyhow, with Mr Coyle speaking highly of this manufacturer, the order button was hit and here we go! Hopefully I can make a half decent effort of it.😊 Purchased with the laser cut parts from Draf Models Poland I've started to glue the parts that need to be thicker. I'm using a Copydex type glue for this as I'm waiting for the 3m spray mount to be delivered. Also glueing the framework for the wings, Ive found that my all purpose generic Stanley knife is a tad too unwieldy for cutting out the smaller pieces. Obviously the order button has been hit again and a scalpel handle with no.11 blades(100) is on its way. More will follow, so if you're watching thank you👍 Cheers

Could we have a UK members section?
Edwardkenway replied to JDillon's topic in New member Introductions
welcome to MSW. With the Internet a huge part of life nowadays, the option to get almost anything from anywhere has made getting materials for our hobby easier. If you need quality wood may I suggest Hobbymill EU, who is a sponsor and a site member, for kits or fittings, @Chuck, Syren Shipmodel Company and @chris watton, Vanguard Models, also both members and sponsors on here. All in all I think we're pretty well catered for. Edit #2 if you check out the section where the sponsors are, I think you'll find practically everything you might need. -

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
