Nice to see you back in the boatyard, Dave!
I use it for my unwind time which between work, my weekends with my son, entertaining a needy friend (don’t ask) and entertaining my retired parents is far and few between. I’m hoping this winter will be better. I have so many ships I’d like to build just staring at me lol. But I want to finish what I started. You pen duick is looking beautiful.

I saw your work on the Phantom; she's looking nice! I hope the Home Improvements went (or are going well) and that work becomes manageable (unless insane is good, then I hope it stays the same 🙂)
I really need to start staining, painting etc...but I’ve had more fun with the little pieces. Home improvements are the norm when you over pay for a glorified camp on a lake lol. I need a roof badly but I’ve been replacing windows and sheathing for now as well as gutting bathroom and bedrooms...money and notification after 40 hour weeks are rough. Work is busy but busy is good I guess, makes the days go by. What are you working on currently?

Curious how if this one is still coming along (as well as your Taurus)?
Taurus is on hold for now. Ponte Berlin is on hold as well. I am back to the Phantom for the time being...it has been a summer of home improvements and work has been absolutely insane.

i'm sure you will get better responses from more experience people, but i believe cleaning the fittings prior no matter what you use is the most important thing. i assume you are talking about brass eyelets...i'm surprised the brass black isn't working, i had luck cleaning with vinegar, and doing 2 or 3 dips in the brass black. There are many good threads on blackening. Maybe try sanding them lightly so the paint has something to stick to? Again, i have faith someone else will lead you in a better direction. Best of Luck!

David,
That would be wonderful, I have page 1 of the plans (drawing) and the instruction book (pretty short and weak) but I'm missing page 2 of the plan. Please be sure to copy full size, even if I have to piece together a bunch of 8.5 x 11 pages, they key is getting the actual size correct.
Can you call me at four eight four - six eight two - three zero nine one and I can give you my address and I'm glad to pay for postage.
Chuck
Chuck,
I only have one page of plans, i'm not sure there is two plans for the Tour Master Kit (961)? it shows the plan view and elevation of the ship. What do you think Page 2 of the plan looks like?
Thank you,

I’ve decided to order different grating as the one that came with the kit is way off. I’ve also finished the wheel house beside paint and started the companionway.
im wondering if I should remove the decking where the companion way goes or if I can set it on top. I used the grooved deck material for the companion way roof.

Decided to do some painting and staining. I also have work on the skylight. So far I’m pleased.
I stained the deck. Over all I like it.
Painted the various cabins and wheel house.
