I like it because it gives me a few minutes time to make any adjustments. Some people prefer CA and I use it in certain applications but you need to be sure you have the parts in exactly the right alignment because you only get one shot at it. For planking and finicky stuff I prefer to have a little more time to get the parts where I want them.
I think you made the right decision, I think if I were to do another one I would use PVA as well. I liked the fact that the CA was pretty much dry instantly so I could continue doing another plank, but I wish I spend more time trying to bevel those tiny little pieces due to the fact that it curves towards the bottom quite a bit. It appears you have more patience then me...which is something I am trying to develop. Looking Good!

Don’t go blaming me! I will say the material in the Corel kits is some of the best to work with.

'Ponte' is Italian and just means 'deck' or perhaps here 'poop'. Perhaps you may want to change the title of your thread accordingly.
Thank you for your response to my question!
When I searched for what ‘Ponte’ meant it was defined as “bridge”, would that be correct as well?
this kit does represent the ship you mention, I have the full-size as well and noticed that the plans differ as far as railing height, as well as an additional rail by the stairs being shown.
i finished the cabinet with the compass and the candle in it. I still have to paint and stain.

Nice clean work, Dave. What kind of wood is that in the decking? It looks like you live on a lake...??
There is beech, poplar and walnut on the kit...I assume the planking is beech and the darker strips are walnut?
yes I live on a small private 130 acre lake in upstate NY (Duane Lake) ...no motor boats but very quiet! I also have an amazing gift of an eagle nest in a pine tree in my back yard!!

I expect you'll soon be getting a call from that "Hoarders" reality-TV show. He who dies with the most kits wins? Good God, Man! You're worse with kits than my wife is with shoes!
I definitely think I have enough kits for now 😝 I’m hoping to die with most of them built, but if not I’ll sell the ones I decide not to build 🤣.
not having a wife makes it easier to buy what I want 😆

How about posting a photo of your model kit collection. It might motivate me to add to my collection just as I've been thinking of downsizing! Seriously, I'd love to see them. I've never seen some of these Corel kits before.
ok, this is pretty embarrassing but since I turn 40 this year I am hoping to have all these done in my life time. I’m convinced I’ll be retired in 15 years 😂
the one on the bottom I’d occre bounty with open hullpretty much every model shipways kit when it was on sale...damn those sales
recently the model shipways constitution was on sale for 200$...couldn’t resist. The other two are eBay wins...
this Berlin kit is normally 450$ - $600! Got it for under 200 shipped....awesome looking materials
never seen a Le grande lejon (which is a real boat) a rattlesnake and a very old victory kit.
lots of Midwest...
midwest steam engine kit which came with a boat and I ended up winning two Corel cross sections for $75.
well I hope that motivates you to ummm...I don’t know but I think I need help 😆

I actually purchased the full size version of this ship as well for a literal steal (under $200 including shipping!)....
anyways, inside the box was a Corel product brochure and I was amazed to see all the options for dioramas/cross sections.
also, please tell me what the rod in my diorama is representing...would it be the rudder??

I love it! This kit is just way cool and it looks like it pretty good quality materials. I'll be following along on your build. Who knows, I may just have to go shopping around for one of these... 🤨 BTW, I think you must be a Gold Medallion Member of eBay by now!
Hi, my name is Dave and I’m an eBay-aholic.... I can’t pass up on a deal lol.
