Lots of detail for this kit. Really nice looking build. How did you etch the plates into the hull?

After two weeks the shipyard has open again. Now we go in a quicker tempo. Gunwale completed today. Needs sanding and then cutting the gun ports

A kit on the market?!! I want one too! Spent abit of time reading about this ship and the fateful events that happened in that storm. Will most defiantly be checking in soon for more updates.

The model is now complete (04/2019). It's been a few years since I've updated this topic and also had some other major changes in life:
    1) We moved to a smaller, ranch style home in Nov. 2018 (Mocksville, NC) and I no longer have a model shop - at least at present - I will in the near future, but that is a work in progress.
    2) I retired from Grifols Therapeutics Inc. in April 2019 and am currently working on home projects at both houses - hoping to the get the old one ready to sell and make the new one more livable, etc.

We just returned from the May Wooden Boat Show & Model Exhibit in Beaufort, NC at the NCMM and I am posting some completed photos of USS NEW JERSEY (BB-62): This model took 7 years (give or take) and was a major project both research-wise and construction-wise to build. Anyhow, it's done and I'm sticking to that!🤩

FYI - To those who may have left comments since my last post in 2016, I apologize for not responding - my build is on The Ship Model Forum and I simply didn't have time to keep up with 2 modeling forums at the same time.

Looks great. Clean and tidy build. The hull must be mass produced and used for all of the battleships of that class. Looking good.

Ok. The ship is finally completed!!!! From 28/12/15 to the 20/12/17 it is finished. Every rope and plank. Thank you to all that commented and followed the journey, you sure  made it fun. I have photos here but I will take better ones soon for the completed gallery section.
The admiral has instructed me to take a break for a bit. She thinks building is very stressful. Hehe. I find it the other way around. 😊

That looks good. With the bulkheads hollowed out and the keel only going up so far it looks flimsy. Take your time it shall be good.

I do like a Mamoli build. Looks like a beautiful ship to build. Hope the bulkheads come right.
