That's looks like a handy tool you got for that sanding. I think it is coming alone great. I must have to see if we can get a tool like that somewhere over here

I work in the mines in the northwest of Australia, here we are extremely safety conscious about everything! Even the toilet cleaner that the cleaners use to make our toilets clean has it's own MSDS and a JHA ( job hazard analisysts) has to be conducted before using. When I go on my break all of that safety jargon goes out the window and I never thought anything of it. Until I read this post. Now I will check my glues and adhesives when I get home. Safety and health is important at home as well as work! Thanks for bringing this up.

I understand your point. And I also understand as it is your kit it is completely up to you how you want it displayed. I thought the same, but when my partner said a sailing ship is not a sailing ship without all it's bits and bobs ( as she calls the rigging) I have had to complete all the rigging before I am allowed to display it.. But as I said, it's up to you and I respect that. Happy modeling!!!

Done a great job! It's really looking great. This ship is one of my favorites, always wanted to purchase this one but will have to wait until funds are available. So instead I follow your log and dream. Keep up the good work.

This is the tool I would recommend, you can file or grind the outside of the jaws to get the pin groove closer to the keel/rudder if you want.

This is how the hinge is crimped, I don't have a pin in it, it will release a bit when you let go so the pin should not end up too tight

Then rest it over a steel or hard edge the right thickness and using something flat and square ended like a steel rule bend the sides down against the steel
