She looks excellent. The decorations are better than the ones from the kit, and are all made by you. Very nice. Congratulations, Cristi

Ulises, i like the kit, and this is why i bought. Even it has problems, maybe i will buy. Also i will try to find if the other great kits, have problems. I mean Le Soleil Royal, Wassa, Prince Williams, Victory But when i chose i was thinking of Sovereign or Le Soleil. But i saw that you made Wassa and Soleil Royal You have to decide. Cristi

I like your ship. What kind of stain do you use (water or oil)? The lathe is a 6 in 1 or 8 in 1 for metal ? What is the quality of the wood you obtain? I use a plastic - metal union 6 in 1. Wait to see more. All the best, Cristi

I like the way you organized. Also i like (for me the natural wood color) that you used natural color of the wood. If the place you work looks ok to you (or anybody), you work better, and with a more pleasure. Wait for your log Cristi

Hi Bob i saved a lot of magnets, i use them, and are excellent (even from the SATA). Also i saved and try to use (i have ideas but not time) the bearings. Cabbie, i did not thought about a tunbler, but i will take your idea and i will try. Pat, the disk is not floating but there are well designed and seat ok, and parallel to the "desk". The speed is fixed (5400, 7200 or 1000 RPM) depending of the hard disk (the motors are step motors and i will try to find some schematics to see how to alter the speed). The motors are "strong enough". For the power source i made (to the old power i used) a variable voltage output. With this schematic, and i have to fix the radiator and the variable resitor, plus the 2 output connectors I can try all the new ideas you will send to me All the best to all. Cristi

Hi Captgino, the quality depends just of the sanding paper, i used one for long (it was a 100, and an other 180) Now i made some separate (i have to invalidate some old HDD) so i made some new sandings, also wit different grains. I also have some spare disks (from this, because in some HDD were 2-3 turntables) an i will prepare with new grains Cristi

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
