  1. Finished the planking of the stateroom. This was an extensive job to do since I had already placed doors and windows, so had to plank around them. Didnot bother too much about the windowsides, since these will be covered by the windowshutters. These are the next thing to do. According to the building instructions these shutters (according to the part list they are called portico windows) are added nearly at the end of the build, but I cannot see why I should not do them now. Doing them later will be more complicated. Regards John
  2. An impressive and interesting build. Thanks for sharing. Maybe I put her on my wishlist. Regards John
  3. Finished the second deck stack gratings and tinted them with walnut varnish. Having the doors and windows painted, a drop of gold paint on the left side of the doors should depict the doorknob. So can now start planking the state-room. Regards John
  4. Thanks for recreating your build log. This is a very interesting historic vessel and your build is coming out great. Will follow with interest. Bon appetit. Regards John

  7. Hi Sjors, The paint used for the paddle wheels is supplied by Lidl. At the time they had a complete box for about no money. Dependend on the job I use various kind of acrylics, Revell, Tamiya a.s.o. Yes I visit Meyer & Blessing as well as Harolds. John
  8. Wow, that is what they call a double hull vessel. Now I understand how this complex structure works out. They are looking great Sjors. Regards John
  9. Goodmorning Adrieke, Thanks, it took me some time and efforts since my eyes are not as they used to be fourty years ago. Now start painting the second deck doors and windows. That's a real challenge. Am afraid I have to redo them several times before this job is done. Regards John
  10. Finished the components of the paddle-wheel: varnished the blades and shaft, painted the paddle-wheels and rod arms and varnished them as well and finally everything is in place. Regards, John

  14. Hi Adrieke, It's good to see you back. Luckily I had the same pictures as used for the MSW site on my private website and restored my built log, however without the comments. Keep good courage and within soon we are at the same level as before the crash. Best regards John
  15. The stable beams in place. As can be seen, the proportions of the stable bars are now in line with these beams. The original bars were far too big, so I am happy I have redone them. Regards John
  16. This is the rebuilt of my build log of the King of the Mississippi. The pictures should be selfexplanatory, since I will start comments as from the point where I am now with my built. Regards John
  17. This is the rebuilt of my built log of the Mare Nostrum, which I completed. The pictures of the start of the built are missing, so I inserted the pics of the instruction sheet to show the start. Trust the pictures are self explanatory, since I will only publish the pictures, not the comments. Regards John
