  1. Since I presume my task will be cleaning windows, I prefer the window with 4 panes. Seriously, in this scale the wood of the inside frame is rather thick which is less notable with 4 than with 6 panes. (not to say it is less work ). John
  2. Thanks Adrieke, yep the wheelhouse is next. Will plank the innerside of the wheelhous as well, since the walls are clearly seen through the windows. Bill, never been in the Mississippi area, but for one reason or the other sometimes I imagine I can smell the atmosphere of the bayous and see Huck fishing in the river, hear Randy Newman, dr John and all the blues bands of New Orleans. Regards, John
  3. Nice window frame production Adrieke. Regarding the railings, my kit consits of 63 plain ones, 5 with an extra horizontal part and 10 with an extra horizontal part without an outside vertical part. Think I will use them for the 3rd deck balcony and the small stacks. Regards, John
  4. I cannot imagine that you are less engaged to these children than to modeling, so you give them the best start to develop themselves to be ready for the future. Maybe even more important than building ships. With the most respect for what you are doing. Regards, John
  5. Daniel, who am I to comment on your excellent work. You have the end result in mind, but if it is of any help, the fourth plank as from the bottom looks dented or it is a distortion in the picture by the camera lens. Will follow your new built with great interest. Regards, John
  6. Hi Doris, Perfect doesnot exist, but you are so very very close to it. Regards, John
  7. Hi Bill, thanks for dropping by. The hull is plank on frame (lasercut frames). Regards, John
  8. Hi Adrieke, nice windows, they are so tiny, nearly the scale of the gratings. Well done. Have you checked whether the height of the windows are matching the windowshutters (if you use the shutters afterall). And by the way, you need two more windows for the third deck state-room. Most probably this is all obvious to you but thought it does no harm to give you a mnemonic on this. I paint the brass raillings piece by piece. Donot have an airbrush and by using a normal brush I am not able to prevent paint drops on the opposite site (caused by all these tiny railings). Well the easter weekend has arrived, so wish you happy building days. Regards, John
  9. Good progress Rebecca, turns out to be in nice little built. Regards, John
  10. A great built and nice pictures. Love it. Regards, John
  11. Have checked out the build log of Mobbsie. Quite a project indeed, happily our winters appear to be getting longer and longer . . John
  12. Found her Sjors, scale 1:65, length 1300 mm, height 944 mm. Thats really an ogress. Admire your courage.
  13. Seen from the reactions the "Aggy" is something big, but this amateur has not a slight idea what you are talking about. Searching Internet for Aggy I indeed can find a model, but she definitely doesnot look like a ship. Please unveil this riddle. John
  14. Sjors, you did it. See you at the darkside Regards, John
  15. I wish I was small enough to live on your fabulous ship. Regards, John
  16. Sorry to note your problems with the stairs. Indeed the staining is causing the problem that the CA does not hold. Had the same problem, so have removed the paint from areas where it has to be glued to the stairs, which fixed this problem. Am curious to see at the time the result of the scratch build windows and doors. Regards, John
  17. This really an impressive built and nice pictures. Will follow your built with pleasure. Regards, John
  18. Me too went through the store, however without result and I do not blame the store for it, they provide me the plywood without any cost, regards, John
  19. Thanks Garward Sjors, if I can do it I am sure you can do better. So you will overcome your Mirage Misery. Thanks Wim, I am glad that I have had this hurdle. Regards, John
  20. My oh my, I am so happy with todays software. To scratch built the missing ceiling have scanned in the print with the lasercuts, scaled part 114 (the ceiling) to the right size. Printed out and glued to a piece of plywood, saw the shape and it fits. Regards, John
  21. Finished the 3rd deck state-room. The ceiling is missing in the kit and am still waiting for completion by the hobby shop, however they have no response from Artesania sofar. Looks like I have to scratch built that part. Should not be too hard to do. Regards, John
