  1. Hi Adrieke, Thank you very much for your warning. By planking the 2nd deck I noticed that the veneers are not exactly equal in width. So I constantly check whether the two sides are still in line and correct them with smaller or broader veneers. Much appreciate your concern. Regards, John
  2. Really beautiful work. You are a very skilled worker. Read your built log with great pleasure. Thanks for the pictures. Regards, John
  3. Hi Andy, Looked over your built log with pleasure. This is really an impressive built and great painting. Well done. Regards, John
  4. As already noted by Adrieke and Wim, the slots in the third deck are misplaced, causing the stacks to be listed. Have corrected this by amending the slots by 3 mm (again the thickness of the wood, someone was sleeping at Artesania's). The 3rd deck will be planked in a herringbone pattern like the second deck. In the instructions of AL this pattern is disrupted at the small sides. Since I donot like this disruption I will proceed this pattern over the whole deck. (Yep the first photo was already taken before the stairs were placed). Regards, John
  5. Doris, You are a kind of wonderwoman, restoring cars, building ships, creating crew, giving workshops and so on. Are you really from this planet or just a visitor ? Regards, John
  6. Funny stuff Sjors. This will surely furnishing the deck. Regards, John
  7. Hi Frank, Browsed through your log. You made a great build, the rigging is impressive. Cheerio. Regards, John
  8. Wim, another great built and 'as usual' you give it a personal touch. Have fun, John
  9. Hi Sjors, Now I fully understand (no you are not speaking double dutch). This phenomenon has to do with the angle of the camera with such close shots. Just was afraid that you were seeing my ugly face in the reflection of the wave catcher. Regards, John
  10. Great Daniel, Now I am curious to see the picture of the bonsai golden money tree. The lady has to be very pleased. Regards, John
  11. Hi Sjors, Does these pictures show what you want to see (am curious to what looks strange on the published picture ). Regards, John
  12. Hi Daniel, She is looking very well and must say the distortion caused by the coarse glass gives the ship a nice mysterious look, while one still can see the quality is obvious. I like it. Regards, John
  13. Thanks Mark, Thanks Wayne, Must confess that it feels as a great relief having overcome these two obstacles. Regards, John
  14. Thanks Adrieke, since we are doing this for fun it shouldn't matter how long it takes, as long as you enjoy it.
  15. Wow Daniel, this deserves a very extraordinary bonsai, trust you will end this log with a ship in a bottle and the bonsai you earned. Regards, John
  16. At last I succeeded to create the socalled wave catcher. The kit supplied mahogany (sapeli) with a thicknes of 2 mm which snapped by trying to bend it. Have bought mahogany with a thickness of 1.5 mm in accordance with the parts list. After wasted 1 meter I now begin to understand how to bend extreme curves. Regards, John
  17. Finished the handrails without problems and placed them together with the stairs on deck. The whole begins to take shape. Regards, John
  18. Hi Wayne, Very nice built on this tiny scale. Great job you are doing. Regards, John
  19. Daniel, She really is a beauty. You did a wonderful job. Regards John
  20. Daniel, Think it is more a matter of being perseverant, than having talent. Nevertheless I am flattered by your comment, thanks. Regards, John
  21. Hello Daniel, It's extraordinary what you are doing. Really a pleasure to see these pictures. Will follow your (tiny) built with interest. Regards John
  22. Hi Adrieke, Admire your courage to complicate this build with lights, for which you have to do a lot of modifications. Maybe the next time I built the King will follow your model. Keep the good work going. John
