  1. Hey guys, I haven't made a post in a long time, even though I've been working almost every day. I also bought Cadmium Red Deep and I like it more. The third time I painted the gunnports with a mixture of 1part Cadmium medium and 2 parts deep. Unfortunately it doesn't show up well in the pics. In real it looks better. But when I do the inner planking I will experiment more. I may end up using only Cadmium Red Deep.
  2. Thanks guys, Frank I'm about 50km far from Prievidza and I have a classmate there. Wow I didn't know that Vlado, what a good coincidence. Two Winnie on the Váh 😀
  3. That looks great Jeff. I admire your patience and skill.
  4. Hi guys, the first layer of wales is done and I've started painting the gunports. I'm not at all sure if this is a good red. It's this one: Vallejo Cadmium Red Medium Wouldn't it be better: Vallejo Cadmium Red Deep Unfortunately I can't get a better picture of it. What do you think? There is only the first coat so far.
  5. treenails after sanding are very decent but later oil paint will show them up glued second wales, hawse holes, and experimenting with scuppers...
  6. planking under the main wales is completed... It's not quite perfect, but I don't want to use putty and I think an oil or wax finish will make it even better
  7. wow, you surprised me guys with your positive comments and likes. It made me very happy. Thank you guys. And yes Allan you are right, the gratings is my work. In the kit is only photo-etched gratings.
  8. Thank you for the comments and for the likes guys. The next step was planning the planking and making the wales. It was quite challenging.
  9. Thank you guys, the drop plank isn't glued. I only used it as a template for the position of the first strake.
  10. Hello friends, unfortunately I didn't have enough time to build but I finally took the next step. I checked the bow shape over and over again. And yes the templates and plans and also your logs help a lot... ...Finally the first plank is glued. I just hope it's ok now. What do you think guys , has it fine run ? I hope so, because I'm worried about it.
  11. by the way, I was inspired by McKay's book Sovereign of the Seas...
  12. gun deck and small sample of the inner lining (cherry, treenails made from brown PVA glue)
  13. it's really possible Frank... I mean, partly "EasyWood is a PLA-based 3D printer filament that is filled with 40% wood particles..." EasyWood It's even a Netherlands company.
  14. Thank you Patrick, your Pelican is an inspiration for me. Next, I decided to make new gun ports. It was even more difficult because they are not square.
  15. Thank you Allan and also for the likes guys, I appreciate it. Originally I didn't even think I was going to modify so many pieces... Now there will be a break from the decks for a while. Next is the hull stiffening and installation of the side patterns.
