  1. Thanks Chuck ! So after a dusty week I report that the inboard fairing is finished for now. I can go back to planking.
  2. Thank you for the kind words and likes guys. I finished the second belt and before I continue I've finally started fairing inboard as well. And I also was bending the top cap. I blackened the inside edge so I know as far as I can sand. It's slow going, I'll continue tomorrow...
  3. Thank you Chuck, Glenn and also for the likes! I'm making slower progress now, here's a little preview. Still two more strakes to finish the second belt...
  4. Hey guys, I haven't made a post in a long time because all my energy has been directed towards planking... reply to the wax, in that one photo it's freshly applied and it gives the look of gloss. I also prefer a matte or satin look. But this point is still too far, I can't wax continuously otherwise I wouldn't be able to glue on the waxed surface anymore and that's a bit of a disadvantage compared to wipe on poly. So I finished the first belt, this is what it looks like
  5. Maybe I was too hurried because after finishing the planking there will still be a lot of sanding to be done, and then I'll apply one more final coat and then add the Black strake at last. And on top of that will be applied liquid wax. (that is the plan for now) Test:
  6. Thanks for the likes guys, some photos for Easter... I added the anchor lining and after the final sanding of the second layer of wales I used a Fiebings Leather Dye stain. I like it because it is beautiful to see the texture of the wood. But the processing was difficult.
  7. Thank you Chuck for both the compliments and the warning. I hope I can prevent the mistake you mention.
  8. So I'm slowly getting closer to finishing the second layer of wales, one test...
  9. Linning off the Hull ... only a few pictures, Thanks to Chuck's tick strips, I only needed to make slight adjustments. But surely a constant check during the planking will be necessary. Before I started the second layer of wales I glued one strake as I planned.
  10. Thank you for the nice comments and for the likes guys, it always encourages! On the starboard side I glued the first two strakes below the wales. Maybe I'll add 1-2 more strakes to make it sanding smoother . But before that - Lining of the Hull. And then I'll add a second layer of wales, what I'm looking forward to it.
  11. Hey guys, I haven't made a post in a long time, even though I've been working almost every day. I also bought Cadmium Red Deep and I like it more. The third time I painted the gunnports with a mixture of 1part Cadmium medium and 2 parts deep. Unfortunately it doesn't show up well in the pics. In real it looks better. But when I do the inner planking I will experiment more. I may end up using only Cadmium Red Deep.
  12. Thanks guys, Frank I'm about 50km far from Prievidza and I have a classmate there. Wow I didn't know that Vlado, what a good coincidence. Two Winnie on the Váh 😀
