  1. gun deck and small sample of the inner lining (cherry, treenails made from brown PVA glue)
  2. it's really possible Frank... I mean, partly "EasyWood is a PLA-based 3D printer filament that is filled with 40% wood particles..." EasyWood It's even a Netherlands company.
  3. Thank you Patrick, your Pelican is an inspiration for me. Next, I decided to make new gun ports. It was even more difficult because they are not square.
  4. Thank you Allan and also for the likes guys, I appreciate it. Originally I didn't even think I was going to modify so many pieces... Now there will be a break from the decks for a while. Next is the hull stiffening and installation of the side patterns.
  5. I gently modified the gun carriage from the kit. These won't be seen eventually. The others I will make completely my own.
  6. Thanks Tim and for the likes as well. continued: I had to adjust the bulkheads and make some new deck beams. I tried to simulate not only the bending of the deck planks but also the decks beams. And Stern Bulkhead modification...
  7. Thanks Glenn, I got the pins from here: Modelling Pins or Super Modeling Pins
  8. So I checked the bow shape. More sanding was needed, so far the right side is done, I hope it's good. The temporary plank is thick as the planking plus the fancy rail. Fcastle cap rail template now fits quite well, it overlaps by about 0,5 mm. Is it better now Chuck?
  9. Thanks guys. Galeona has many decks, so plenty area to practice 🙂 On the gun deck I tried a different technique for treenails. On the decks I am happy with it. I used brown PVA glue... The finish is wax...
  10. planking Orlop decks with maple planks, maple nails, and my first grating (cherry wood)
  11. Hi guys, I am a forum member for many years, but only now I decided to show what I'm working on. For my return to modelling after 20 years I chose the Revenge 1:64 by Amati/Victory. So far I plan to build only the hull without rigging. I've liked galleons since childhood and anyway, I've been following Chris Watton's prototype build since the beginning and I couldn't resist. But inspired by the awesome models here, I would like to improve the model a bit to get skills for other models. So keep your fingers crossed please. I'll add photos gradually, because I started in January 2020 Dusan ready for play
  12. Thanks Chuck The first chapter is more or less finished. So here's the important part: Preparing for planking What do you think ? Dusan
  13. Thank you Chuck and for the likes as well. with Stern frames I'll show you, Planking the Lower Counter… Dusan
  14. next: Stern frames and Quarter gallery framing It was a little harder. So I even forgot to take pictures ...🙂
  15. Hey, guys, thank you for the warm welcome and the kudos. I really appreciate it. Adding the bulkheads was the easy part because everything fit perfectly. I start fairing at the bow. Then I did the Port framing. Sanding the ports was a bit more challenging because the bulkheads are soft poplar plywood and cherry wood is harder. And then I made the job even more complicated by adding balsa blocks. I hope I won't regret it.
  16. Thanks Matt, Rusty and for the likes as well. Next step: False Keel and adding the Stem Knee assembly and Keel Sections. I have pre-drilled the bolt holes but I will fill them later... Dusan
  17. Hi boys, Let me you join your group and introduce myself. I am Slovak, I live near Trenčín. I have a manual job so I spend my free time mainly on biking. I am a forum member for many years but I came back to modelling after about twenty years. Two years ago I started with Revenge kit which is rather a scratch build. But I like Chuck's project very much and indeed all your builds guys have inspired me a lot to return to this beautiful hobby. So I couldn't wait any longer and started building Winnie as well. I'm currently finishing the first chapter. I'll gradually upload photos of the build. Now I wish everyone happy, healthy and prosperous new year. Dusan
