  1. Lower ratlines done.Stays or upper shrouds next, who knows.I don't want to attach the bowsprit yet it got in the way a lot on my last one.
  2. Thanks Frank and J Lombard and for all the likes.A while ago a lot of peoples photos didn't appear or got wiped out.I managed to add them now using the edit feature,i'll go back and add the other missing ones sometime.Page 6 is the second planking, just give the second planking a very light sanding as they are very thin.Post a build log and you can get great advice on you build.I spend more time looking at others Endeavours than working on mine.ron.
  3. I settled on 7mm spacing for the ratlines,i have enjoyed doing them so far.Onto the port side now.
  4. Looking great Max,to late for me to change my mast height my masts are glued in.How does your foremast height compare to the replica?
  5. Have a speedy recovery Augie, there's lots to read here in the meantime.
  6. Thanks for your advice Pat,Max and Steve.I haven't looked ahead to the sails yet.Thats a good way to do the catharpins,i'll see how mine go when I fix the futtock shrouds on.
  7. printfreegraphpaper.com is the one I found, thanks a lot Pat.I'll use the quarter inch size that gives me 6mm spacing which is perfect.
  8. Thanks a lot Pat.Mine is 1:54 so i'm thinking 6 or 7mm now.
  9. Next job is the futtock shrounds then, ratlines.Has anyone got suggestions for ratline spacing,i was thinking 10mm between them might be o.k.Going with Pat's option 3 diagram for the layout.thanks.ron.
  10. Sounds like the same builders as here, the neighbour has had the drive re-done 3 times, their roof creaks now.
  11. Thanks a lot Frank,ha ha.Just trying to sort out a plan for the carthapins now.
  12. Good progress today, tighten up the deadeyes tomorrow.
  13. Hi Slog, hope you are in your house now. They must have brought every piece of wood via Darwin to Perth..
  14. Thanks Dave, you will do fine you've done a fantastic job already, take your time and only think about one thread at a time.
  15. Hi Steve, just about to do my main mast shrouds. Are there 6 shroud lines and 2 back stays or 7 shroud lines, thanks Ron.
  16. Thanks Augie, more shrouds tonight with a bit of luck.
  17. The 0.15 thread needs to go straight into the rubbish.I used 1mm black thread for the shrouds instead of their brown 0.8 it saves dying or painting the shrouds.Last time I painted shrouds I had flecks of paint across the deck I had a lot of trouble removing.Just ordered more black and raw thread 0.25mm,that will keep me going until I get further along.
  18. Thanks Denis,I tried wax on the occre thread but it still looked terrible.
  19. Onto the shrouds,i used .25 caldercraft thread to connect the deadeyes as the 0.15 occre thread is very hairy.I also changed the long boat tie down thread.
  20. Beautifull Augie, you've come a long way since the tug, well done.
  21. Looking good,I used card for everything they said to use brass for much easier to work with and looks better.
  22. Hi Max,i'll do the sails I have done furled sails before not easy on the first one but once you get the technique it was easy.Should be interesting anyway that's a long way off yet.ron.
