  1. the transom is not yet fixed, just there to get a feel of its final position. The first planking is slowly getting there.
  2. whilst i'm on with the first planking I like to get on with some of the deck furniture between the glue drying.
  3. a little of Peregrines transom completed....the 50p coin shows just how small this build is....brings its own set of problems.
  4. frames and the first lower decks added....this is a tiny model and will probably pose just as many problems as much bigger kits..
  5. the camera can hide a lot of defects but cheers...
  6. i have started corels Endeavour.....it will be interesting to see the differences between the two kits.
  7. the whole transom is assembled off the main hull, attached at a later date supported by 3 walnut beams already assembled on the model one of which can be seen (29) in the window aperture of diagram 15-3
  8. yes it is an instruction for the vertical planking....i will post a pic of the instruction......thanks for following....i am a builder that just follows the kit instructions.....I am not overly concerned about the accuracy of the ship i am building, for me it is an enjoyable hobby....
  9. a little deck planking done, and the transom (not attached yet)....I like to jump ahead of the plans just to see how things will pan out ...gives me a feel for the ship
  10. just go out and enjoy your model making...there are too many people in this world that get hung up over trivia...
  11. I like to add some deck fittings very early on to all my builds to get a feel of the finished ship. These will be permanently fitted at a later date but just gives a view further down the line.
  12. The smallest ship i am taking on......nothing for months then along come two...this and Endeavour.
  13. Greyhound is in front of Bellona.......about the same scale as Bellona.......the cuban tasted wonderful and apart from machine made guantanamara cigars the rest are getting more expensive by the second.....I know the crop was decimated by hurricanes so the price has gone into orbit, but the tax here on tobacco is bonkers.
  14. Whilst Endeavour is in the news recently I have decided to get it from the shelf and start to build whilst finishing the rigging on Unicorn. A couple of pics of the initial few ist planks.
  15. this is where i am with Unicorn......a while since I did any rigging but it must be started again.......
  16. not doing the dragons back this year though a couple of friends are.....good luck to your son and daughter in law....
  17. well, completed the fell race so now can start again on Unicorns rigging.
  18. big 50 mile fell race coming up this weekend in the beautiful English Lake District.......starts at 11:30 saturday morning and finishes sunday morning early hours....after that then Unicorn can finally get some attention....not going to be easy but I have several friends who are running with me and my daughter too. I am the lucky one really as the 100 mile race is happening at the same time. As i am pale and ginger we need dull cool weather. Plenty of factor 50 will be applied to every exposed area of pallid skin....One good thing is the bar remains open and pints of Old Peculier will be available at the finish line as well as the cuban cigar i will light just before the finish line....
  19. cheers SpyGlass....i am in training for a 50 mile fell race in 6 weeks so not worked on Uni for a while.
  20. will start on the rigging again soon....honest....
