just go out and enjoy your model making...there are too many people in this world that get hung up over trivia...

Greyhound is in front of Bellona.......about the same scale as Bellona.......the cuban tasted wonderful and apart from machine made guantanamara cigars the rest are getting more expensive by the second.....I know the crop was decimated by hurricanes so the price has gone into orbit, but the tax here on tobacco is bonkers.

this is where i am with Unicorn......a while since I did any rigging but it must be started again.......

not doing the dragons back this year though a couple of friends are.....good luck to your son and daughter in law....

big 50 mile fell race coming up this weekend in the beautiful English Lake District.......starts at 11:30 saturday morning and finishes sunday morning early hours....after that then Unicorn can finally get some attention....not going to be easy but I have several friends who are running with me and my daughter too. I am the lucky one really as the 100 mile race is happening at the same time. As i am pale and ginger we need dull cool weather. Plenty of factor 50 will be applied to every exposed area of pallid skin....One good thing is the bar remains open and pints of Old Peculier will be available at the finish line as well as the cuban cigar i will light just before the finish line....

harlequin replied to Charlie pal's topic in Masting, rigging and sails

good luck with it.....i used it on both black and white rigging and it was fine. I suppose a lot depends on how coarse the rigging is.. -

i used this stuff on some of my rigging.....passed it through pressing my thumb into the wax then rolling the fuzz flat....worked well for me...

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
