kpnuts got a reaction from lmagna in Bentley 4.5 litre (altered version) by kpnuts 1/12 Airfix
Well I've spent most of tonight working on the exhaust (it goes down and under the car on the original version) it has to come out through the side panel on this version and on the actual car would have nuts to undo in order to move the exhaust and open the side panel. On this I obviously cant glue the exhaust to the manifold as I wont be able to put the side panel on and I cant put the side I've managed to figure a way to do it similar to the way it would have been done on the real car (will post pics when I've painted it all)

kpnuts got a reaction from lmagna in Honda CB 750 F dio by kpnuts - Tamiya - 1/6
Hi all I love these Tamiya 1/6 bike kits but I realised that a lot of that wonderful detail is lost when you put it all together ( I would have loved to do this with the Yamaha 1100 midnight special which I built in my youth as a bike I dreamt of owning but as it was no longer in production i couldn't afford the stupid prices it was going for on ebay)
So money being tight at the time i went for the Honda.
Of course what seemed like a simple idea at the time quickly turned into a nightmare, a kit intended to be displayed complete opened up a whole bag of worms when you decide to put it in a garage totally dismantled ready for restoration.

Kits like this should be banned.
I like to think I'm an ok modeller but I'm really struggling with this pig of a kit, if I were a youngster with no experience in modelling I would have given up and probably never touched a kit again.
Dont these kit manufacturers realise when they release a kit like this they're shooting themselves in the foot, every new modeler is potentially lost with a kit like this.
I'm just glad I decided before I started building it I was going to depict it blowing up.

So I added the exhaust it was very difficult to show the bad fit in a photo but it took 3 days countless swearing and not a small amount of plasticard and filler to achieve a decent fit (I even took the spre plugs out so I could get at the screws holding it together to loosen them off and try giggling it to try and get it to fit)(and this is not the worst part of the kit) the radiator on this kit is a joke (wait till I get to it and you will see what I mean) dont get me wrong it's a huge kit with loads of potential but they did so much penny pinching on it.

So the throttle bodys finished and added next problem the awful fit of the exhaust (yes on a kit this expensive there are bad fitting parts)
