While waiting for some drying to occur on the Tempest I have just about finished the wood on the glass case.I still have to glue the four upright to the case drop some wood glue in the joints, sand and clean up.I will then be on the prow for handles up top and for the ends.

I pretty much got the wing built and ready for the first primer. The radiators on the wing for those with the kit and thinking of building disregard the kit's instructions.I built the R/wing radiator to the bottom as instructed leaving out R20 for late next attach the top cover and once good and dry insert R20.The same happens on the L/wing bottom, top and sand L20 to fit without issues. The kit instructions has you build it then attach as a unit both sides the wing to rad fit in my case was off could be operator error but what I just described fit.It looks like nothing but Valleyo Filler is all that will be needed around the wing root.

The copit is finished it's such a thinker to get it together and all those pins aligned right but happened with some persuasion. The seat came out really Nice meaning paint wise II was able to paint the brass rings for the threads up top very very well and painted the leather sting in yellow chromate it worked.I may try to get a better level shot if the camera will let me.I am not far from closing of the fuselage and off to the wings the fit of the Mk VI seems better than the last Tempest the Mk V

This is my second entry for the GB and being a little bit more to do thought I go trough the build History:Tempest Mk.6 NX135/V No.6 squadron RAF,Deversoir,Egypt,1949.The machine was also seen and photographed at Nicosia base,Cyprus. It is one of only a handful of Tempest to carry a bare metal finish(NMF).One of the pilots who are reported to have flown this machine was F/L Spragg, who on the 7th January 1949 took part in the aerial engagement between Tempest and Spitfires of the RAF and Spitfires of the fledgling IAF.On this day Spragg sat in another Tempest and slightly damaged Ezer Weizmann's Spitfire with his guns.

This part of another group build over at our sister site called the "The Sandbox"anything in the sand anywhere car, truck ,figures you got it.I chose Major Erich Gerlitz plane after his 17th kill. The planes paint patterns changes from the 1/2 sand/blue to sand except the blue below the exhaust.Their was no pre-shade on this one just post weathering using Floorys sand,Tamyia Pastel and Alclad Smoke it was done in stages Florrys cleared again and pastel next cleared again.I used Quintas for the interior which is a big help.I hope you guys like it it may go to a small show in Mobile.

As many years I have been building and painting I have only develop or found this method I do.My Renegade has a knob on the back that allows me to adjust the the drawback reducing the volume of paint.I set this up low and go in circular squiggly pattern never hanging out anywhere work with the panel when it's a dark color being applied hence easy to cover the pre-shade go opposite what I say on the bottom.I start with the panel line first but not to much then jump inside the panel its not hard. The neat part when complete take a break come back different lighting maybe look and se where you want more coverage main thing lower the flow. Thanks for the compliment Alan working a 1/72 Ki-49 ATTm braille scale.

About the NRG
If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.
The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.
The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
