  1. Graham that came out pretty sweet but boy it fills up quick didn't it?My hobby room on the shop is 6'X16' and it filled up fast also.I am sure from what I have read you will find this place your little sanctuary of peace like I find mine....many hours of happy modeling!!
  2. I have built some ARii kits they always tended to be older in production but built up pretty well as I remember. So,what about this kit is it from the 70/80's?It looks to be of decent moldings from the sprue shots.
  3. Jolle those boats do look great and 3D is a game changer in some areas on my build of the Scharnhorst I am using them for small parts that simple plastic injection would never get there. The cost they add to the build can be some what substantial in the end but I feel it's well justified in these 1/200 ships.Keep up the fantastic work you are doing will be checking in.
  4. I hear ya Mike but the big guns are cool.I am thinking my next 1/200 for what it's worth will be the Bismark I like the lines on Kreigsmarine stuff when outfitted with Atlantic bow.I am seriously starting to think about downsizing my collection of 1/48 and 1/72 one day keep the ships,1/32 and a handful of 1/48's.
  5. Nice stuff Alan but 1/700 is beyond me ship those pompoms to Mike he can do anything!!
  6. Some very Nice stuff Jolle I may be lucky if I am 1/5 the builder you are I have lots to learn!I never thought of positioning the men as one builds?I was wondering what you guys were using for research shame not much in the line of books. The Anatomy of the Ship seem to be some Nice productions of research which I am using keep up the fantastic work Jolle 1/200 is an amazing scale to play in!
  7. I went RLM 75 for the hull and just picked a white. The turret colors I had to make but but started with RLM04 and worked it from there.Your measurement comes in @1.771" weras mine is 1.875" that's 1/10" lower than mine at the bottom of the boot? It's a judgement call ?is your build up and running yet? I was looking at the waterline and if you go your measurement you will be about 1/10" above the rear shaft support go higher. The Atlantic bow came about because the Kreigsmarine like there ships to sit low in the water but the flat/straight bow let the deck get to much wash. You can see the nice gentle slope upward to the forward mast when you sit back
  8. I am glad you chimed in I had forgotten anyway I measure 1 7/8" from the keel .I used a pencil in a block and drew the line after painting the boot area black.I then ran 1/4" tape(5/16" probably better) above the line and painted the hull red in RLM23.
  9. That's a splendid representation you have done Dan
  10. I will get you a measurement tomorrow if that works my boot is just a tad thin @1/4" I would say it needs to be about .300" if memory is correct good luck finding tape in that size. A video were she stands ATTM.
  11. I am sorry guys I forgot my camera but I received 1st,2nd in 1/32 prop missed in the 1/48 prop with my Academy B-25 PBJ and struck 3rd in the 1/48 jet with the F-84 from Tamyia the F-84 was last minute. The contest had a decent showing of 246 entries this year my buddy and I had fun he garnered 2/3 place with his 1/48 Fw-190 Eduard with all the goodies and a 1/72 Me-262 bomber version. The buddy bought $20 worth of raffle tickets and won about six kit and bought four more.
  12. It came with the kit Mike I did have to add the top cover the switch/potentiometer mounts on to though. The hardest part was the mounting of the micro engine I started further in the engine assembly but friction played a great factor.I was sitting one evening and a thought hit me ......mount it in the front crankcase assembly? I thought ...NO!! ...but it fit!So I can now outfit the rest whether it be a Spit or a P-51!
  13. She is up on her stand just a little more work on the exhaust staining and the headers.
  14. I am down to now antenna, canopy mirror, pitot tube and the exhaust. The next part will be wiring up the power supply hopefully completed to my liking by Wednesday. The overall look upstairs I am content with the undersides is so-so.🤨
  15. I have started applying the wash first the whole topsides got a dark sand wash then wiped but the brown did nor look fades enough? So I took mostly light sand in a container added 1/4 dark and went over just the brown areas looks better to my eyes.I then applied that same color to the bottom to which I have only started to wipe off the excess. The plan is once I am comfortable with the wash and it still a bit heavy I am going to spray with future since it's more water base than anything else that hopefully will dilute it some. That's the plan.
  16. The main decals have been applied no flash(cam) this go round guys and when the wash hits it's going darker
  17. I have the camo on the plane was not totally satisfied with what Tamiya called out for l.Sand but that is what I did the 109 in in the background.I think once I get to the point of weathering it will go darker some and blend in well enough
  18. Well I have started the painting process on this one.I started with Mr Surfacer 1500 grey,Tamiya Semi Black, silver (chip) and I guess yellow ID bands. The plane looks like it's going to get colors from 3 different manufactures go figure🤨
  19. The same process when I clean the brass for reloading with a liquid additive to enhance the process for more polished effect. Thanks for popping in and the likes guys the wings, tailplanes and landing gear (up) are now finished and fixed in place. The canopy is about to be masked and put in play and it's off to primer.I am bring this if I finish to the meet in Covington LA in June.
