Let's continue with the series of images with a vengeance . . at least let's admire the sights and the landscapes.

In fact I'm starting to make a little thought for the next summer holidays.

Goodbye to the next issue, Jack.

Again nice pictures Jack, where are they taken? It does look like an interesting area to visit.

I found the photos on the net, but I believe they are taken on the Vis island, more in detail in front of Comizo.

Regards, Jack.

I finished to restore the images that disappeared thanks to Photobucket. . Now they are (or rather the conditional would be) all visible as before.
I would be grateful if you would like to report any anomalies in the visualization of images, maybe via private message.
Thank you. Jack.

I've added other unpublished photos. .

Wow, that looks like so much fun! I love the rig, and imagine they go like a rocket on a broad reach in a blow. I especially like the "Comizo Lisbona" going wing-on-wing on the previous page. Beautiful boats. Simply beautiful.

Ciao. John

JackAubrey,

many thanks for the ample and fascinating info on these boats and ships. Great photo collection; not so easy to shoot them under sailing conditions.

Yes, and I agree that the O'Brian naval novels are so enlightening for the era and always worth to re-read them. Each time I find new fascinating details to follow.

best regards

Hello everyone,
Does anyone happen to know the manufacturer Oktopus in this context?
I have the opportunity to get a Paranzella kit.
But I can't find anything about the manufacturer online; it's supposed to be Italian.

It seems that it is (or it was) a kit manufacturer from Czech Republic. But it was specialized in plastic kit or resin kit.

See below an example of its kit.

It seems that another name is PAVLA MODELS.

Too few informations for purchasing a kit, in my opinion.

Hello again,
A conversation with the seller shed some light on the matter.

The manufacturer is indeed Naval Models, a Dutch company that still exists.
However, they now specialise in plastic models.

The kit is said to date back to the 1960s.
So we exchanged various details, and now he is waiting for his money and I am waiting for a box of wood.

I will keep you posted.
