Weather patterns have never been my strong suit Adriaan but.... in the US we're heading into winter (soon)... but you are down under so you're heading into summer right?

It is always odd to think that we're pulling out the gloves and scarves and you're region of the world is pulling out the shorts and flip-flops  ;) Big wide world it is!  :D

hi Randy yup we are heading for a hot hot summer

we havent even put away the shorts and thongs (thats what we call flip-flops) as it was a mild winter :P

we didnt reach the record temperatures yesterday but 37 degrees iwas very unconformtable (more so when you have been in an airconditioned building all day)

atleast there were no big bush fires

Just been watching proposed Australian weather on the news Adriaan and it looks awful. Super high temperatures, loads of cyclones, chance of more bush fires. The weather's gone mad. I'd move back to Europe I tell you

Down Under is still a developing area.  Here in the Rockies we have learned to temper the high temperatures, wind, forest fires and snow with the occasional 500 year flood  :D

Robert 5 years ago i would have cringed when hearing those temperatures but now i got used to it. and however weird it sounds i sweat alot less here then when i was living in Belgium.

one of the first years i was here on new years day we had 47 degrees and bushfires all over (almost had to stay somewhere as the roads into sydney where closed). thats the first time i was in such heat and it was like sticking your head in to an oven :P

the way its going wont be surprised if we l be getting close to those temperatures this summer

the spray painting isn't going as it should but not giving up on it yet

I did get a bit more done on the gratings

the right part is almost done just need to fit the last piece on and sand the edges

same goes for the middle bit

post-622-0-71653000-1381750586_thumb.jpg

when studying the instructions I noticed that the middle bit will not be supported from the bottom.

2 choices I add a bit of construction underneath myself or drill holes in the parts and use dowels (tooth picks) to secure it the outer parts

Hi Adrieke,

Very neat... Shapely...

Tooth pick is a great idea...

Sorry, may I ask a question?

Do you think to add a white wooden piece of frame to the inner section of the brown inclined strip to complete all outer frames of the gratings?

Best Regards…

I think I also remember that at that scale they were right ******* to make

You certainly have made a good job of those

thanks Ferit :)

the instructions only say to cut off the corner but it might look better if i do what you suggest . i might have a look doing that on the other piece and if i am satisfied with it i can redo the other one :)

thanks Mick

they where actualy easy to make . OcCre instructions make you assemble them first then apply glue with a brush on top. this makes the glue soak into the cracks. when cutting to size i used exacto knife to carefully cut them then apply some more glue with a brush on the sides to keep it all together :)

i am still practicing the spray painting. i was going to show some parts but the photo turned out blurry. i cheated with this part as instead of removing the previous paint i just turned it over (the back wont be seen once the model is finished)

Nice work on those gratings - if this is the hidden side, then your better side must be spectacular!

That fire looks perilously close to the urban area.  Tough place to be a firefighter!  Stay safe!
