hello Popeye they sit on top off the deck the 2 side bits is where 2 off the lifeboats will fit on. there is no cutout for it

no building update

 

worrying about my mother in laws place . (she passed away last year but my brother in law is still living there) its at Lake Munmorah and they are trying to contain the fire there just behind the house

also other relatives of my wife live in Winmalee and we are trying to get to know if there place is ok (we know they are alright since we saw them on TV when they where interviewing some of their neighbours)

i have glued the first 2 painted parts on to the deck. they still need a lot of work.

i am adding all the detail to it now (doors,windows,handrails) instead of following the instructions as i think it wil be more difficult

hello adrieke looks like u are working hard on that kit how long is that ship looks like about 48inch 4feet that is big just asking

she is about 95 cm just over 3 feet

got little time so not much progress

 

I have started on adding the green bottom border which will cover up any gaps

 

although instructions says to paint the little windows completely white I have painted the inside black

 

 

next will be to add the doors and the hand rails. Having completed that I can add the aft top deck

any progress is good progress.     even when not in the plans......thin strips of molding can enhance your model,  and eliminate the insightly joint lines.  nice work Adrieke

I am happy with the colors I selected

I did forget one plus I need to replace my paint brushes. since this whole week I am in training again in the city I am not far from the hobby store

Adrieke, How do you like the looks of Expo's Stagecoach kit? Did  the US export those to Australia back in the day? I've been thinking about getting one of those but am a little nervous. Besides I've already scratch built one and have a LINDBERG kit in the stash.  BILL in Idaho

it looks similar to the AL stage coach i am building but the way its constructed might be totaly different. i believe Jim (script) has build that one

about the export i have no idea. i have only been in Oz for about 5 years

did a bit more painting tonight

 

also used the mat varnish from admiralty for the first time . when applying it is a bit whitish but that goes when it dries. so far I like the look of it

I finished the aft structure (although on the picture I can see I need to work on the handrails as they are not straight)

 

now I could glue the deck on top

 

the forward structure is glued in place but there is plenty of work to do (the green border,5 doors, 4 windows and lots of handrails)

I'm already liking the GF Adriaan. Love the varnish, it gives good color with a nice matte finish to really see the wood. Nice!
