Hi everyone.

I have decided to start working on this kit  to break away from the monotony of working on the same kit from several months.

I always thought it would never do that but... I just need  a break.

First hurdle, I got the old kit version on eBay and the directions are only in Italian. I sent an email to Corel l and they very kindly send me the direction in English.  However, this is for the second revision of the kit and I unfortunately have the first one.

Bummer...

Anyone have this kit and the directions on English?

English  direction or not I am starting.

I used an app where you can take a picture of a text.  You can extract the text from the picture. After that it was just a matter of using Google translate., there is a few mistakes , but overall it is okay to understand.

It is definitely an interesting kit. The overall quality of the wood is decent.  Some of the strips are warped but I can work around that.

I am thinking about maybe upgrading the plank on the deck with some boxwood.

This is just some strips of wood that I wanted to put there to see how would look like. But this is not the right size. I'm going to have to trim the wood on the side a bit.

I noticed that is quite a discrepancy between the plans and the actual Construction. In one section,  the directions /plans called for 10 strips

but you really need 7.

I think this is something I'm going to have to look out for for the entire build.

Small update. I have decided to add some additional details to the build but not as much as some of the other master pieces on this site. It would be a more humble approach.

I have for goal to built the Triton cross section later so I am using this built as a platform to test new techniques and concepts.

So far the deck beams have not been glued.

Hi

Coming in a bit late here. I am also making the Corel Victory cross section. My first real model as I am very new to the hobby. Will be watching your progress with interest.

Cheers

After a lengthy hiatus spent working on various other ships, I’ve finally returned to this model and completed it. It’s all too familiar, isn’t it? Juggling multiple projects and bouncing from one model to another, each one vying for attention and creativity. But now, I’m thrilled to see this particular model come to life after all that time.

I decided to return to basics and follow the model instructions for internal construction. I abandoned the customization of the ship's hold. Additionally, I aimed to gather more details about the exterior. In this section, I am working on the construction of the Orlop Deck.

I am painting the hold a bright white to improve visibility. Right now, I'm working on the lower gun deck, attaching the support beams and columns for added stability.

I took off the keel because it was not lined up correctly and was not fastened well. After fixing its position, I reattached the keel and started to plank the outside of the model. I drilled a hole in the keel to help attach the model to a base. I also added the lower wale.

I spent time working on the Middle Gun Deck, focusing on the construction of several gratings designed for the Upper Deck and the Quarterdeck. These gratings are essential for ensuring proper drainage and ventilation.

This is looking great!!  I been thinking about doing one of these models but first have to finish up the one model I'm working on.

How is the overall build ?  Would it be a good model to build for a second ship build ?  I built the Mississippi Riverboat by Occre and that was my first build.

Thank you very much!

That's quite a challenging question; it proved to be more difficult than I anticipated, particularly regarding deck alignment and leveling. However, with a methodical approach and perseverance, it is certainly achievable. Please don't be discouraged by my comment.
