I used equal parts: plain white vinegar, household ammonia, table salt, lemon juice. I got this method and recipe from: www.wikihow.com/Age-Copper. There are quite a few different ways to age copper, this one worked well for me. Tape off everything but the copper, brush on the mixture, cover and let sit over-night. If not dark enough, repeat process, then clean with window cleaner. Hope it works for you.
