Edit at August 28th 2015 - Important notice

On this stage, it is very important to think about places-holes for dead-eyes on aft deck, maybe now is time to drill a holes from them. After mounting bulwark, this will be a ... hmm... devil work. See later post http://modelshipworld.com/index.php/topic/2501-cutty-sark-by-nenad-tehnodidakta-scratched-campbells-plans/page-124#entry343697- very very narrow space to drill holes

Keep in mind their position on aft deck floor rail

Now that's a very nice rear deck, Nenad!!!!  Bravo and continue onward with the same results.

Today I finished my  "creative inprisonment work" with heavy marble slabs in the garden, dont feel my hands anymore, and I am so tired for shipyard, even I did not go to my exercises (something with elements of Tai-chi, Aikido and Yoga, not for fighting. When I was young, I practiced Aikido, and this exercises are very appropriate and pleasant for me)

So,  slumber watching TV and have enough time today and tomorrow to think carefully about next step to avoid some mistakes ....

Tomorrow, garden work is also waiting for me. In the basement I made complete chaos, and Admiral forced me to clean it up ( Why ? She is afraid to enter without me ?). As usually. she is right in her demand ( it is impossible to enter the basement ...working around the fountain, I just stuffing things inside and slipping out of order. As already deep autumn, today I added into a garden table and a chairs, and just then Admiral ask for some flowerpot from the basement. Why are they almost always right ?). And at the evening we will go to in town to see some friends, so Her Majesty CS can rest from me.

But, my head works permanently about next step

For now, I think it will be : bulwarks on rear deck, bulwark with white panels, top rails, and then return to hull. Re-planking, stanchions, nail and dead-eye holders, water-ways must wait for a while. If I do not change my mind in mean time.

Nenad,

Your work is inspirational in the way you find the answer to problems.   The CS is looking better and better everytime I see her.

And as for Admirals... they're always right.  That's why they are Admirals.  ;)

Nenad;  I understand completely!  We all need a break from our builds, It helps in the long run.  Our Admirals love our work but they are the ones to say; "Ok, time for a break, let's do something else!"  It gives a time for us to clear our heads and start with a new approach.  Sometimes we (or at least me) find ourselves hitting our heads against a brick wall (or a marble slab) and the one's in charge say; "Hey, back up, look at it tomorrow".

I picked up the ship tonight to look down the deck, and The Admiral said; "No, not until we watch a movie.."

Out-gunned once again...

Not everywhere, Spencer.

I live in my house in suburb part of Belgrade (20 km from downtown), all in private houses, and Admiral and me love greenery and force it. In neighbourhood is empty vacant derelict yard with a lot of grass wattle and trees, and it fits me very well, since I have a feeling like I'm living in the forest. Imagine: 21h at the evening, sitting in terrace with glass of red wine, relaxing ... complete nirvana .... and you hear ... nothing except birds, dogs eventually some stray car. You do not need any sedative.

The best : even my office is in downtown, it takes me about 25 minutes from entering a garage to park car in front of office. In office, when window is open I can not speak over phone (to much noise)

Although I am a "child of asphalt", and was born in the center of downtown, I would not go back there to live ever

Living in flat in downtown, it is nearly impossible and very exspencive to have a garrage and work space for hobby

Ohh Nenad, that sounds really good, i see how you sit outside and enjoying it. It makes people in a way more quiet, i mean that you relax there nicely than in a town and next thing is, or my opinion, then you got more taste to work. Cos every summer i spend a lot of time on Lipno lake, we got a small cotage, it is something diffrent, now you have bigger freedom and more time than if you are between huge buildings. Is something else be outside when sun is comming down to dinner you fish a fish oh sweet sommer. What season do you prefer?

Bob,

I understand. I hesitate sitcoms and soap-operas, but ... have read some serious historical books about Ottoman empire, and sometimes almost enjoy to look with Admiral some episode of "Suleiman the Magnificent" Turkish soap

Pavel

I hesitate winter and cold weather with wind. But, snow with sun is something different. I prefer early spring when everything ;) rise up.

Also dont like very hot weather when air conditioning is necessary

Yesterday I made my first try to get wet some moldings with intention to light distort them for future bulwark with white panels. Wish me luck with that. Also preparing to start making rear bulwark. Nothing valuable to show for now. Perheaps tomorrow ...

Bob, I tried this, and this is what happen

With moldings 50cm long 5mm wide, when I ( without previous disort) during glueing disort them even lightly in this direction

post-4738-0-84246400-1383043781.jpg

internal forces in molding disort them in this direction in the midle

post-4738-0-14246400-1383043781.jpg

And having in mind that I intend to glue pillars between panels, I am afraid that them will be de-glued if I disort molding after makeing panels

With previous disort I want to try to avoid that as much as possible

PS

Nenad, you are in office, go work your job !!!!  B)

Last time I made panels, there were in separated pieces, and lined one to another formed bulwark. That bulwark was "little" drunk ...

Now, I go by your steps, and make a bulwark with panels (from forecastle to near a half of poop deck)

BTW - light disorting was succesfull

Thanks Bob and Pavel, your support is very significant to me

Yesterday was a very hard day, started day ago with serious family fight with kids that continues yesterday with knot in the stomach from early morning. And in the morning knot grows to sky. In office, reading morning mail, I found that one client was hiding from me key facts of his case whole three years (?!?!?!) and that facts lead him directly to the jail (he sold his apartment, but after the sale, he concluded two contracts for the gift of that same apartment), and had not told me any word about that, and yesterday the opposing party makes clear that she is aware of, which reflects with immediate termination of power of attorney, and very very very unpleasant conversation with client after that.

That was not the end.

After that I had really hard two hours meeting with investors and builders of one factory in resolving property issues.

And coming back home, I needed all my strenght for family diplomacy to resolve damage and collateral of family war, and Admirals strike. I spent tone of nervs about that from early morning, and really relax in the evening when armistice was finally signed

Really is not boring

At 23:00 felt in bed as fallen tree, and could not sleep for a while until 02:00. Yep, in the 08:00 in office, with hope to go to the shipyard soon

Nenad, a quote from John Lennon come to mind:

" Life is what happens to you while you're making other plans"

I know about work frustrations. Spent the WHOLE morning trying to make my 6-monthly company tax reconciliation balance. Re-checked certificates many times. Only to discover that the program wasn't updating properly...grrrr.

All my work mates were staying far away from this growling rottweiler in the finance office..

Hope the home-front situation has improved. Not nice when these things happen.

Regards,

Dognut.

Storm again, and calm again.

Temper stubborn defiance

Little birds ( 23,25 years old) are up to come out of the nest that they became close, but not quite yet, and will strengthen the waving wings crumble around him. They and the Admiral must understand that the most important thing is to keep the entire nest. You do not have right to cut their wings, but you at the same time can not let them break things in the nest. Unfortunately, there is no mathematical answer to this questions. Is their puberty was more difficult? Then you had some force in your hand. Now, you still have  some force ( money for instance) but using this force ( as a black mail) can ruin the nest. I have no idea and answer. Nobody can

During the period of silence, exile in the shipyard, and little progress

Today I chose to listen music of Paganini, JS Bach and G.Verdi

First I spent 2-3 hours to make tweak tool for drilling holes for white panels, but I was not impressed by result, and hit all away

post-4738-0-12024300-1383521816_thumb.jpg

Holes must be more narrow to seem to be in scale

Lets try on another way

post-4738-0-66570800-1383521838_thumb.jpg

Then look carefully what tools I have got with Dremel, and got an idea to try milling

post-4738-0-01338100-1383521857_thumb.jpg

And here is semi-final bulwark.

post-4738-0-91481400-1383521879_thumb.jpg

Holes must be deeper, and injection of panels is waiting . Because of lighting conditions in shipyard Colour on last photo is not shown accurate, real colour is almost identical to the original paint on CS

Think this is more in scale

post-4738-0-71888700-1383564186.jpg

And sure better than this
