Hello everybody from Spain

José Moro

Recommended Posts

I am a new member in this forum... but first of all let me introduce myself. I live in Madrid, Spain, and I am an airline pilot. When I was young I started to build ships but I soon joined the Air Force and han to stop building. I spent the next 40 years flying all over the world as a comercial airline Pilot and now, approaching my retirement age, I plan to start building again.
Things are quite diferent nowardays... when I started building I felt I was alone. Today, thanks to the Internet, is easy to keep in contact with other builders and to learn new skills from their experience. That is what I intend to do, and this is my retirement project.
My previos experience in building includes a Clipper (Andromede), a spanish galleon (Victory), a river boat (Spirit of Mississippi) and a Grand Banks boat... none of the survived!

As you may have noticed, English is not my native language so I must apologize for my errors.

Welcome to Model Ship World Jose.  Your English is just fine.  You will find that ship model kits have improved greatly over the last forty years.  We have a lot of build logs that you can review before you decide on your next project.  Hope you enjoy your retirement and this site.

Hi José,

good evening from Barcelona 😄

don't worry about language, with specific nautical words you'll be shocked with it!  but no problem, here the people are awesome and even they'll try to understand us! 😅👍

no doubt to ask anything and please upload pictures of your models,

regards and wellcome,

Fernando
