Sloup by michelev - Corel - first build

I began this project in 2017 and it's been progressing very slowly! I found some of the pictures I took along the way. Here I was completing the hull. The "sloup coquiller" was a typical Oyster Boat of the area of Brest in the Department of Finisterre in Brittany, being used for catching shell-fish. The model is based on pictures from 1912 onward.

Fixed the issue...the problem was that I copied and pasted the image directly from the browser...it seemed to have worked but clearly it didn't!

Here I just started to cover the boat's sides with the tough tanganyika planks cut in 4 segments to make it easier to shape them by sanding. Also I completed the deck cover.

When i upload pictures i just drop them on desktop and drag them over to my post and then place them in between text if needed or on beginning or last thing....

This is actual recent work from a couple of days ago...I managed to sand the mast into a sorta conical shape...the wood it's so hard..it took me a good 4 hours even using a cutter!

Finished the fittings inside the boat.

Sanded one of the paddle out of the wooden log.

 

  Made rudder and tiller. I've realised that I've put the rudder a bit too low but I won't reposition it...

I've already nailed the hinges... lesson learned for the next model

I've made the boom. Started painting the hull. I decided to stick with the colour scheme from the box image.

Continued painting the hull. Went through the use of masking tape relatively unscathed: the edges of the black area came out quite neat with only minor spill out, mainly due to using paint with too much thinner. Painted the rudder accordingly. Finished the boom with the thin 1x3mm beech plank on top of it.
