Ok Spyglass,

The search continues ....

Is it USS Pennsylvania Armored Cruiser (1905), renamed the Pittsburgh in 1912?

Take care,

Anja

Thinking aloud: Not French, becasue the bow doesn't fit.

Not HMS, as I can not find anything like it.

Could be spanish (used in the spanish/mexican war....)

Well, it remind me the SMS SCHARNHORST, an Imperial German Dreadnought, launched in 1906 and sinked in 1914.

AARRRGh!

ELETTRA yes!

I provided too many hints!

it is obvious that I am new to that game!

Elettra, the floating laboratory of one of the radio inventors: Guglielmo Marconi.

For Captainsteve: From that ship with a radio command he switched on the light in a Sydney exibition, far 22000 km.

Well, one piece of that ship is exposed in Sidney now.
